So I was thinking about all the times we’ve been beaten down with the Nerf hammer(Guys.. It stop being a stick long ago. quit calling it a sick.) And I think I know what the real issue is with our class.
Its our Initiative system, we can attack faster and repeat 2-3 skills if we need it, other classes dont have that option.

So why dont we start looking at the cost of Initiative based skills, Initiative regen rate, and the traits that raise that regen rate. Buff’s to the last would be a pretty cool way to balance the nerfs, considering they need a bit of work anyway.

Anyway, those were my thoughts on it. I’m sure I’ll now be flamed and called names, but given the way things are going, its only a matter of time before we run out of good skills anyway, may as well try a different kind of Nerf.

stop with new topics regarding any nerf please.
I really doubt there will be any nerf, the ones that complain are lowbies bursted by glass cannon.
As an balanced ( vitality /thoug /critical ) theif i crit mostly arround 3k and i backstab newbies for 5k. could it be loweR?

No, the problem is 15 or so idiots that continually whine for thief nerfs. The rest of the population handles the current situation just fine, many of them steamrolling thieves because they take the time to learn how to play the game instead of just whining all the ding dong day about that one rare thief that managed to do more than usual damage to them that one time. I was willing to compromise before, but no, I’m sick and tired of it now. It’s time arenanet wakes up sees this little sect for what they really are, the sludge of the earth.

Recently someone made the suggestion to make Initiative regeneration conditional on how much Initiative you have. If Initiative regeneration would work like that it would improve Thieves gameplay in multiple ways.
It would give Thieves more DPS because they can use their abilities more frequently but the spike damage would remain the same. Burn all your Initiative for a spike would come with a greater opportunity cost. Skills that regain some Initiative points would become more powerful because they can bring you quickly out of that low recharging area.

Only problem I have with this is the fact that it encourages auto attacking and not using skill that cost Initiative. Its basically identical to TOR’s Bounty Hunters Heat mechanic, which absolutely sucked.
