Look I am not going to fill this with class X is so much better thus they deserve a nerf. I am not going to ask for my thief to soak up as much damage as my ele or warrior.

But honestly sincerely and truthfully thief is PvE is garbage (and it has been for a long time). Its not about skill or anything like that. The class is just too poorly designed for PvE. I have build my thief tanky, condition, spike, and no matter what comparing it to the other classes I play it just lacks. DPS sustained DPS especially), survival skills, healing, group support. Honestly there is some but what is brought to the table is so small and terrible in comparison to others i cant imagine anyone who says it’s fine not laughing each time they do so.

Look I think we get it your hands are tied because of WvW but throw us a bone. I know this bone may be a few months down the line but please look into it.

No one from the dev team may read this. It may get deleted or filtered in but I am placing my hopes on the fact that one of you plays this class and see what it is lacking. I have no idea what you will do but please take a look it.

I am not going to kitten or moan or say I am going to quit but I am going to shelf my thief. I am not going to delete him or sell his gear or anything like that because I hope that one day my thief is going to be one of my Favorite toons to tackle PvE with.

Now I know someone will come along an say it’s fine that I need to L2P but I am not engaging in that argument. I am not going to post in this one again. I am not delusional my thief is under powered in PvE and if you think its not you haven’t been playing.

I have a main thief.. and i have no problems in PvE.. (aside from a few annoyances)..
But it is generally strong.. and if you still think so.. i dont think the thief class is for you..

Just to make yourself feel better, you should take a look at the patch notes for warriors.. they got kittening spanked.

This topic came up a lot over the past few weeks and half the people were saying no its fine, while the other half agreed that it is underpowered.

I powered my thief to level 80, the thing was not easy and I had to switch my builds around like 5×. UP or not I think a lot of people will agree that PvE with a thief is not “easy” by any means. Main reason in my opinion is because PvE is mostly dealing with mobs, and in my opinion the current thief isn’t really built for obliterating mobs as easily as some other classes, i.e. ele’s or warriors (but seriously take a look at the ele forum… they have their own issues).

And yea, we have cluster bomb, and yea if you’re specced to the nines with berserker gear u can rack up somewhere in the ballpark of 2-4k damage spike at level 80 with CB, trickshot will also do some nice damage. However, this wont be available until ur at or near level 80 however, the problem is GETTING to level 80. It’s also slow as hell and makes it unreliable in a lot of situations.

I honestly think that if the thief got access to one more weapon, a 2 hander like the rifle that’s equipped with at least 1 AoE skill, it would solve a lot of the problems.

And… and… AND!!!! I can finally get my thief a legendary that I can be excited about, like the predator! Because I don’t know about you but shooting bubbles and confetti out of the quip or unicorns out of the SB is really really REALLY not my thing… (watch Anet be like hmm you have a point there, lets give you a 2 handed weapon thieves, behold! The longbow! You can now shoot golden things out of a flowery bush thing!)
