I play d/d thief in wvw.

Now as d/d we are forced to play super burst full zerker build.

now thanks to many unnecessary nerfs, d/d thieves are really hard to play…

i wouldnt complain about practiced tolerence changed to ferocity from vital and -200 armor from the trait bonus remove but that SA trait nerf was really harsh for d/d thieves.

Landing CnD is our only offensive and defensive move as d/d thieves now our cloaked in shadow moved to gm trait no more shadow rejuv + cloaked in shadow together.. and now we cant even remove immobilize blind or cripple.. seriously make me wana quit thief ;(

To do well in wvw you need to run sa+acro+trickery… You can’t take damage trait lines…

Ran D/D in hotjoins this weekend. Glass cannon signet build (but using Marauder amu).

If I got the jump, I destroyed people who weren’t quite as adept with their class. Against people who have played longer, they just hit Endure Pain or Stone Amulet or went into Shadow Form if my positioning was off. After that it’s either escape or die.

It works particularly well against zerkers, but only if you, again, initiate combat. Medi-guards or dagger/scepter eles (or even d/d) just lol if they catch you off guard.

I’d honestly like more sustain, some decent condi cleanse, and a way to deal with the faceroll grenade aoe spam besides the shadowstep retreat, but in the end I am what Anet wants me to be.

Yeah same..

I liked the old d/d sustain not like kill or dead meta.

d/d used to be either a sustain build or a burst build. Sustain is no longer viable

imo D/D is much more powerful now. This seems to be a skill issue on your behalf, rather then the actual patch.

Seems like u cant read.

I never said we are not weak in damage.

I am talking about the sustain we used to have as d/d before.

Now we are only able to go full burst which is kill them first or we are dead.

And that is not fun at all.

My D/D build I was using before patch seems fine/stronger. I really hate the Shadow Embrace nerf though. I’ve always had a love/hate relationship with SE because it was our only good condi remover, but I hated it cuz there were no other good options for different builds so I’d get bored. Now everything is bad. I also miss my long poison duration.

Any other decent build I’d use for fun with P/P and S/D is pretty bad, which makes D/D stronger by process of elimination. ;/

My healing seems to suck really bad without SA healing power, but I’m not sure if I should bother addressing it as Anet seems to want us to be 100% offense.

If it’s any consolation, p/d kinda sucks now, too. Taking a break from GW2 until they figure this out, if ever.

A lot of build got pushed into going full dps after this patch. It sucks a lot more imo for thief though because our sustain was already lacking, giving us a dps bonus just to lower our defenses was not anything any thief player asked for (except the crazy ones).

The few dps bonuses did not help our build diversity because the already popular meta builds got those same buffs and then some, and the nerf to our defenses was not necessary either given how quickly a thief dies once locked down. This patch did not help us but atleast thief is still playable :/
