Guild Wars 2

It’s a good skill agains people who don’t know what it really does. A person that knows can, most of the times, simply escape it and turn it into his advantage due to the brief animation root the thief suffers when performing this ability. So how exactly does one deal with that?

P.S. I’m not going daggers cause at the moment they are way too OP.

Ok, Haste works, I’ll give you that, but DV and the trap are really crap against someone who knows what’s coming.

if he knows whats coming, surprise him

you are allowed to swap weapons or even equip new ones out of combat

I guess I want that thing I feel like I’m missing when some guy escapes the fury of blows I’m supposed to deal. Yeah I could change weapons, in fact, after haste it’s my second option.

By itself, yes, pistolwhip is pretty easy to escape. Coupled with other skills (and add quickness into the mix), and your opponent pretty much has to have cc breaks off cooldown, or you’ll turn them into chunky salsa.

Its not THAT easy to escape if you set it up. Devourer Venom, Basilisk Venom, or Infiltrator Strike will pin someone in place long enough to land PW. your opponent will have to be able to remove disabling conditions and then immediately dodge roll away to avoid this. it takes some real effort on his part.

Even normal auto-attacks hit really hard so yeah. Pistol Whip totally owns in WvW.

how is daggers OP?

it can thit multiple targets like sword can

has less mobility

heart seeker nerfed 20% damage and its thresholds changed.

really, how is it overpowered?

I just wish I could break pistol whip’s animation if I hit my dodge. If they added that in, I’d be pretty happy with the skill.
