Hello everybody!

I destroyed my Anonymity Hood and was wondering if there is any possibility of getting it back. I didn’t know that there is no similar or even comparable skin later on in the game. Now I am running around with this awful leather masks …

As I am now lvl 50 I do not want to recreate my character. Does anyone has a suggestion how to get a Hood skin?

Creating a new character does not solve the problem either due to the soulbound on the starting equipment.

You probably shouldn’t put stuff like this on the official forums. I’m sure they know about it but still…

I don’t see what the problem is since we started with the hood in the first place and they made it so it is unrecoverable.

I hope there will be any official possibility to restore the hood as this solution mentioned is clearly a bug. You can give the hood to any of your character with a medium armor like a ranger for example. This can not be intended.

Game exploits posted on a very bad and borderline file forum like guru, not surprised.

Is it really an exploit? It’s a skin.

I expect them to have a vendor that sells that starting quiz gear for karma or for gems on the Trade Post soon enough.

I would hardly call being able to transcribe the appearance of an armor item that can be acquired by anyone with 3 minutes of work, and whose use is purely cosmetic, an exploit. Also, by what reasoning would you call Guru such? A large number of the frequent posters on this forum are active there I’d wager, and the information is just as credible. It’s been my go-to place for game-related questions while these forums have been down.

The fact its used to transfer a skin is regardless. The exploit is that there is a way to flip soulbound items from one character to another.

Soulbound items are meant to be character locked. A way to transfer a soulbound item (that even maintains its labeling), from one character to another, circumvents the binding system. And that is an exploit.

The real question is: How many other hoods are there in the game? Far too many of the head options for medium armor are just differently textured masks.

The starter hood, from what I’ve seen, is unique in its style. However, there are several other hood/mask combos (such as the Crucible of Eternity medium helm) that look pretty awesome.

I think you can make a new thief with it, and then put the hood in your bank, then take it from the bank on the character you want it for.

This is good info. Glad I kept my hood instead of ditching it.

@Gathslan – I’m pretty sure the special starter item is soulbound from the moment you make your character.
