I only have zerker gear on my thief, too much RNG involved with the fight. So I had to switch to my mes to do it.

Its probably easiest to accomplish with a condition build / with some level of def/sustain since you will need to kite like mad during the second phase and do dmg.

If you don’t have carrion gear, just get green Masterwork stuff. It easily suffices to kill Liadri.

Use a P/D condition spec. Don’t even need rares.

I beat her with an acro build using Valk gear with SB and P/P

A warrior LB + GS build worked for me (didn’t want to buy new trinkets for 1 boss). You should be able to do it with a non glass build. I did it with mostly cavalier trinkets and knights armor at range. Stick close to the center during the second phase (better for the camera and you don’t need to to run as far if you get crippled) and just throw out constant mediocre damage in the form of cluster bomb while circle strafing. Get ready with a stunbreak if you get pulled by an orb, but if you have time to see them, lob a cluster bomb at them and they wont be obstructed. GL

P/D + cal+dodgetrops. Easy.

0/20/10/30/10 P/P / SB. Traited for movement (vigor/utility), increased pistol functionality, and slows on target/trash. Fairly glassy in terms of gear, but it’s doable as long as evades are being managed.

Endurance/movement is key in this fight.

Killed Liadri here. Here’s how:

I changed my spec to 25/30/0/15/0 (previously was running with 25/30/0/0/15). This was just to give me some extra dodges. If you’re really skilled, you can probably do without this. I also used one of the Orrian Meat Stew foods for the endurance regen and might on dodge.

I equipped D/D mainhand and P/P. The dagger set was only used to hit the orbs in phase 1.

Utility skills were: Sig of Agility, Assassin’s Signet, and Signet of Shadow (this offsets the cripple a bit on p2)

Gear is mostly zerker, but I have some valk pieces. Pure berserker probably works fine since most stuff 1-shots you anyways.

It doesn’t really matter what your spec is for phase 1, but having Feline’s Grace helps your mobility.

For phase 2, I just kited and spammed Unload from my pistol set. I think I used Daggerstorm at one point too.

That’s pretty much it. I’m pretty sure you can do this in just about any spec, but having a strong ranged weapon and abilities really helps phase 2.

If you go down, attack one of the orbs that pull you since you can rally off them.

As long as you know the fight you can do it many ways. The common ground between the different options is at least a little bit of extra mobility, mostly because of phase 2.

Again the main thing is knowing the fight, knowing where you need to be next, and start kiting to that position before you need to be there. I watched a warrior do this once in Rifle and rarely even dodge, with just constant movement.

Personally I traited for extra endurance and to lose cripple on evade in case she ever hit me with her whip (Ideally just don’t get hit)

If you get nothing from my tips at least do this:
Ignore what other guides say about kiting around the outer part of the arena. You want to kite in a circle about halfway toward the outside, this way you can quickly reach the next safe area as the one you are on becomes unsafe. To again reference the warrior I saw, he was kiting in a circle close enough to the center to where he was just running backwards while shooting and rarely dodging.

I just did this with my Thief. I used P/D phase one and P/P phase 2. The key was to get to phase two as efficient/quick as possible saving dodge rolls. Keep moving side to side phase one to avoid Liadri’s auto attacks phase one. I used Withdraw for more dodges, Roll for Initiative and Signet of Agility for when my endurance was low phase two. The fight got much easier with that much dodging available in phase two. I used no condition gear and 0/25/20/0/25. Good Luck it is not a fun fight cause the luck involved with orb spawning imo.

I have a full carrion set in bank from back when I used condition early-game and some random ascended cond drops that I used.

P/D on both weapon sets. (2 Pistols 1 Dagger) The Dagger with Energy Sigil, which was extremely useful for endurance recovery. Caltrops all over. 10/0/20/20/20 when I did it.

About to start trying light up the dark

I got normal Liadri kill and also “Light Up the Darkness” achievement using P/D and Carrion setup.

I used Veggie Pizza and Tunning Crystal, but in my opinion maximizing damage is not really needed as you have more than enough time to take her down with condition if you start damaging her right after 3rd orb.

Hints (some are specific to my build):

• Turn off postprocessing.
• Learn to dodge in the AoE instead of running away. When going for 8 orbs trying to get out of AoE everytime is close to impossible.
• Invite somebody to the party so you can target Liadri. Fight can get pretty hectic in later stages and not being able to target her fast can result in quick death.
• Using CnD on nearby spawn or Liadri right before throwing Orb makes the whole fight lot faster. They stop chasing you, you get some regen and can use Sneak Attack.
• If you get multiple Orbs at once or you need time to stabilize and plan, don’t be afraid to use Shadow Refuge.
• Use Shadow Strike if you need to get some distance and area behind you is safe, but be careful not to kill her before all 8 Orbs has been thrown.
• Don’t stand in the white AoE if you are low, just stand close by. Standing there is damaging you.
• Steal to those Shadowy Orbs pretty fast as they can kill you.
• When you get crippled by Liadri dodge and it will get removed. Dodging also drops calltrops that will slown down spawns and together with Signet of Shadows you should be pretty safe.
• You can dodge through spawns and you won’t get hit by the explosion.

I was running with Take Root, but actually didn’t use it at all. Also I never had to switch to SB.

I did a P/D build: 0/0/30/20/20 with bowl of meat and winter vegetable soup with a quality tuning crystal. Utilities were hide in shadows, shadowstep, caltrops, blidning powder, and thieves guild. Took me roughly 5 tries in full carrion exotics with 5 runes of the krait.

Same here, with bow in zerker gear (+valkyrie armor). I use 0/30/10/30/0, for this fight I packed signet of shadows for movement, roll for initiative and signet of agility but I didn’t even have to use the last one. Withdraw as heal with vigor on heal trait, 2 init/10 sec trait and assassin’s reward, so I didn’t have problems with HP. You can have so much dodge with the bow it’s unbeleivable, so just stay calm and dodge everything (if you’re close to a safe zone just run out to save dodges) while autoattacking Liadri. For this you might need mostly zerker gear though, I’m not sure how close I was to the time limit. I tried it like 50 times without the bow because I was concerned about the damage but most of the time I didn’t even make it to phase 2, after I switched to bow it was like 2-3 tries.

I agree it’s better to run around in a smaller circle, not at the edge, you can even see better this way. And don’t forget you don’t have to be outside of the red circles to dodge them, you just have to time your dodges right.

I just downed her with 0/30/5/20/15. Full zerk gear, magic find pistols and zerk shortbow. (was lazy and did not upgrade weapons or bring food) I used blinding powder, SoS, Shadow Refuge with TG as my elite. Lots of dodge rolls and pistol unloads. Used stealth to buy some time if endurance was low and shortbow for the orbs.

Yes, I did that achievement. Few posts above you can find the build I used and some random tips.

Enough time for what? To kill her or throw 8 orbs?

I had plenty of time to DPS her down running condition build. Start doing damage from the start of Phase 2 and you will even have to stop halfway through otherwise you will kill her too quick. Definitely don’t wait with damage until you throw 8th orb.

The difficult part about the achievement for me was not dying while luring spawns into that white AoE. When I focused too much on dodging I would start missing orbs, so I had to find that balance where I would somehow survive, but still get orbs as fast as possible and that is the reason it took me quite a few tries. Stealth, lot of dodging and the trait allowing you to remove cripple on dodge can definitely give you some room to make few minor errors.

Oh god, finally. I got the achievement. Man that crap was difficult >.<

I used your exact build Kubetz. It was slightly different than what I was doing. Was trying to do it before with scorp wire, caltrops and agility but it just wasn’t working. I think what helped the most beyond those few build changes is when you said to dodge AOE instead of aiming for safe spot.
Then the biggest problem aside from lag was her whip flurry spam doing insanely crazy dmg at all times everytime I tried to CnD and Shadow Strike her. I hit her with 8 crystals a few times but always ran outa time when she reached 5-10% Eventually got the damage finally though. Took me about 30-40 tickets still.

For the future:

I was using CnD on the spawns like 95% of the time and 100% of the time when Liadri was doing that silly whip thing. You can CnD a spawn from max skill distance and you won’t trigger the explosion.

Now I am scared a bit what the next update brings in the “crazy achievement” area.

Yeah I was doing that too but it seems like she was always up in my face with her dash and whip spam, especially when I’m standing near field trying to dodge aoe + lure clones instead of moving away from her.

I don’t really like insanely impossible achievements like this unless they plan on making them permanent. .-. The Clocktower was so easy compared to this. It’s a bit excessive.

Would be awesome if they NEVER add stuff liek this to a laggy zone as well. Had to wait for the zerg below to kill centaur boss at one point today just so I’d stop lagging.

I did 8 orbs as P/D-condi using the traited 16-sec Scorpion Wire as a utility. Orbs on demand!

I’d say there were only two real difficulties for a thief once you mastered the general mechanics of the fight and both can be solved rather easily :

1) Sustain during the first phase can be annoying. The camera makes it hard to dodge Liadri’s attacks at some points. Solution : A lot of things work, I went with Shadow Rejuv trait and I tried c/d on things when I got low. Be careful though, stealth can mess up more than it does good.

2) Cripple during the second phase : Just take the trait which removes cripple on dodge

Anyways, guess it’s too late now :p
