AoE's breaking stealth and applying Revealed?
Not that I know of, there is no skill as of yet that pulls you out of stealth
Can you describe more specifically what was happening? Because at present, there are no anit-stealth skills and this isn’t possible.
all is vain
Thanks for the replies.
What SEEMS to be happening is that I’ll go into stealth — without Revealed on — and somehow be knocked out of it when I take damage. I’m not being knocked out of Shadow Refuge, and I’ve tried multiple ways of stealthing (dagger/pistol combo, hide in shadows, etc.) Maybe I’m just making it up?
Are they CONSIDERING adding these kinds of abilities to the game? :/ I’ve heard rumors.
Rangers are receiving an anti-stealth buff on one of their least taken utilities and it’s rumoured to give a four second reveal to an unstealthed character. Nothing dramatic, but it makes it sound as though they will give every class a skill like that in the future.
I don’t know what to say other than to try again and keep a closer eye on your stealth/reveal icons, and remember that revealed lasts 4 seconds in PvP.

How are you going into stealth? CnD, DP combo?
I can just confirm that, but I have no idea how exactly does it happen. Last time I can remember was using shadow refuge at low HP, then I got hit what activated last refuge (I was in stealth, no attacking at all), and got revealed.
The only things that ever pull me out of stealth like that is possibly a weapon switch where your auto-1 fires off right after the swap. Nothing they do should rip you out unless you’re pulled or pushed out of the Love Shack, or you have Last Refuge go off when you’re using C&D, or you toss out a Gunk hunk and the field hits something. Or you have a Dancing Dagger or a Trick Shot arrow bouncing around too.
Never happens.

I wonder … do the Thieves summoned by Thieves’ Guild interact negatively with Stealth?
Although, WyldKat’s logic of Dancing Dagger or random Trick Shot bounce could explain it. I know random Winds of Chaos bounces can De-stealth me when I’m running Mesmer.

Found that out too. Any direct damage hit that pops a BAM number is the display will unstealth you. Do NOT drop Chaos Storm (where it will hit enemies) and then go into mesmer stealth. Make sure all your projectiles are done before going in or you’ll pop right back out when they hit.

This could be a sticky topic for the subforum. How thieves lose stealth!
- leave shadow refuge too early
- fire a missile, go into stealth, missile hits targets and breaks stealth
- something like stolen gunk applies damage on your behalf and breaks stealth
were you in WvW? cause (http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Stealth_Disruptor_Trap) this could be your problem.

Until October 15th, only you can pull yourself out of stealth. After that, a ranger can give you 4 seconds of revealed (but judging by their forums nobody’s going to waste a utility to do so.)
This sounds like Rune of Air to me.

Make sure your auto-attack is turned off.

I’ve had this happen to me before too and I’m still not sure what it is.
At time I’ll just randomly get “Revealed” for no obvious reason. Since I use “Runes of the Ogre” I think it might have something to do with the Rock Dog. Maybe it breaks your Stealth when it attacks something.
Either that or Clusterbomb bleeds ticking are throwing me out of Stealth.
Holy crap.
Rune of Air.

Did people forget about the arrowcart skill that pulls people out of stealth and gives revealed?
Nah. They didn’t forget that one. It’s more that folk are in arms about a fully mobile anti-stealth maneuver. But, yes – the sheer amount of things that you can do to yourself and get de-cloaked by “accident” is kinda silly.

Yeah, I hate how contrived the whole Revealed mechanic is. I understand why it exists but god kitten it’s so fickle and sensitive to all kinds of things.

Probably because it wasnt part of the initial design, it was added late beta and like most things added last minute, not well thought out or implemented
The only problems I’ve seen with mobs in PVE are how they STILL to this day somehow see you when they cast certain spells while you’re visible and then when you stealth those spells still hit you and fly right to you if you’re in the process of escaping.
Some mobs follow you like they can see you still.

About projectiles: Slow moving projectiles, like Guardian’s Scepter auto-attack, will track you until it hit (or decayed) even if you go in stealth. That’s because the skill only check for target status upon casting — the projectile does not. So once the target check is confirmed, that slow moving projectile will follow you until it hit or decayed.
About Mob AI: They will run towards the point where you activated stealth. Say there are 2 rocks next to each other. You are standing on Rock-A when you activate stealth, then you move to Rock-B. You can then watch the mob running towards Rock-A, because this is where they’ve seen you last. So if you just stay there thinking that they will go away, then you’re toast, because they will stay there for atleast 6s before they move away — while keeping aggro on you the whole time. Fun, fun.
