Apothecary and Thieves
Apothecary + Undead Runes = massive condition damage with high durability…
…but still not a good build.
That stat combination is obviously for Condi-Guardians, not for Thieves.
Full set of 5 unique skills for both dual-wield weapon sets: P/P and D/D – Make it happen
PvE – DD/CS/AC – If that didn’t work, roll a Reaper or Revenant.
P/D with 30 in SA would work I guess! Great survivability with healing in stealth, get some +bleeding/cond duration runes to boost pistol damage

Here is a build i use in pvp, you may wanna rethink the traits abit to suit Pve.
for weapons you can either use D/D & P / D for more conditions or you could use D/D & S/D for more survivability and utility.
I run P/D with this setup somewhat like that..
I don’t recommend full Apothecary Though, you have LOW hp as a thief.
mix it with Reyna’s/Settlers and use Gearbore(dagger equiv) for weapons.
edit
Oh, by the way, I don’t recommend it completely mainly cause while P/D is awesome against a lot of classes, It is absolutely dog against S/D and D/P thieves, which there is a metric ton of in WvW right now.

Apoth is amazing solo. With everyone stuck in a zerg they can roll right over you AE’ing like crazy and can’t match the heals. With 25 stacks of corruption you can actually get enough damage going too. Yuo can play all day with out falling over but plenty of builds can stalemate you. I just do it everynow and again when I want to roam for a couple of hours without being killed.
EDIT: Build is usually similar to this: http://gw2buildcraft.com/calculator/thief/?7.1|8.1f.h9.a.1f.h1k|8.1f.h9.8.1f.h1k|1f.71d.1f.71d.1f.71d.1f.71d.1f.71d.1f.71d|1f.66.1f.66.1f.66.1f.66.1f.66.1a.66|a5.0.u53b.k2a.a3|30.d|58.5b.5a.5n.5u|e
I don’t know why, but with full Settler trinkets and Apothecary armor, I don’t even hit 1k condition damage, neither 1k healing power or 2k toughness…
I think it isn’t that worth using after all…
It’d be your spec which is why.
Most likely you won’t hit 1k Condition damage as you don’t generally go the last line 30 points.
However Shadow Arts should give you over 1k Healing Power and 1800 Toughness (I’m assuming you’re not putting any toughness runes on your actual armor)

Back when I farmed EBJP for medals I crafted an Apothecary and used Carrion trinkets and Gun/Dagger.
I like to call it the Immortality build because I literally never died to anyone unless I got zerged by a big horde of people spamming CC. Healing Power is quite powerful on Thief. You’re not going to do tons of damage but you’ll outlast anything. Works well in Fractals too if you want pure survival and keep rezzing people. If only Shadow Protector stacked.
Healing Power is very powerful on thieves…
The stealth heal talent gets a lot from it, Throw in easy access to Regen boon and House Stealth and you have a lot of healing you can do.
I know while stealth I’m getting close to 800 HPS

I think a “Guild Master” venom share build would go great here. Summoning thieves guild and the ambush trap gives you NPC allies, who’s stats and damage do not depend on your own stats at all.

I recently picked my thief back up after playing ele for several months. Been runing P/D with all Carrion gear (just what I was running when I switched to ele). throwing apothecary trinkets (with chrysocola gems) into the mix makes for an interesting looking build (on paper at least). giving up a little bit of direct dmg, about 200 power but gaining a lot of toughness and healing power and keeping the same condi dmg. Gonna have to try this out.

I’ve done Carrion on my P/D thief, and let me tell you, Pickup Reyna’s and Settlers Jewelry, the power you get from carrion in no way comes close to Healing Power

D/D evasive tends to benefit better than P/D stealth from apothecary in my experience, while carrion is still a much better pick on P/D. That said I tend to gravitate toward a mixture of both.
Positives
- Deathblossom procs 3x signet of malice per activation on every target it hits up to 5, potentially 15x activations per actiavtion.
- Melee means dodgetrops nearly always hit the target for at least one stack of bleeds and one proc of SoM. If fighting mobs, many ranged mobs will just stand in it.
- Free permanent poison/weakness on dagger auto.
- Toughness means SoM heals buffed by healing power are more mathematically effective.
- Naturally higher white damage means more damage without +power as a stat.
- Naturally higher attack frequency means more SoM heals
Negatives
- Higher skillcap due to melee and lower HP pool
- Very limited stealth
- Will require a SB swap for any encounter forced to range
- All active defenses.

Since Toughness, Healing Power and Condition Damage sets are incredibly cheap right now, I’d like to know if someone has found any viable build which fits nicely with this set.
I run P/D with mix of apoth and reyna’s, 1505 condi, 800 healing, 19k hp, 1.6k toughness, all with 25 stack/food/crystal, negligable crit and power. Nigh unkillable in wvw.

P/D, whether Carrion or Apothecary is powerful in the right situations (primarily small group battles), but face someone competent they’ll easily bail your fight when things arent looking good for them. It’s probably the worst of the best thief builds for WvW (however it’s pretty excellent in PVE as far as condition builds go, especially Apothecary and SoM).
