Guild Wars 2

Traps are really small, easily avoidable and only work for 1 target. So I was wondering if its even viable to use them in PvP, WvW.

Edit: Is this a stupid question or does really nobody know? I just thought Traps might work different than other AoE Damage skills that show red lines in the area.

I don’t exactly have any real proof but people run through my shadow trap all the time even right after I clearly placed it in front of them.

yeah but im 90% sure they are not visible to the enemy until they are triggered, the 10% is because this is Anet we are talking about

I think it doesn’t appear to the enemy, but I can’t confirm.

My main problem with traps is that they only work for one target. That makes them almost useless. If only they respect the AoE limit of five people.

White lines only show for team. Ranger/thief trap, healing turret, etc.

Nah i agree they need a revamp/retraiting. I do see them as more premeditated tools than on the fly honestly.

Traps are not visible to enemies.

You can clearly prove they’re not visible by watching enemy Rangers behaviour on PvP. Most times they will go to a base, do 2 or 3 consecutive crouching animations and you won’t see any area placed, then if you still jump into the base you activate a lot of traps. So remember if you see a Ranger standing on a base or doing some crouch try to avoid getting your feet close to him. Not that Ranger are a big problem, but that’s one of the few situations where they can get an upperhand on you, so learn to predict it
