Hey all,

I’m looking for a particle effect glowing dagger, I checked the vision of the mist series, nothin for daggers, checked the foefire’s series, nothing. So after doing some shopping around, I saw the really only options we have are the corrupted daggers, and the AC daggers, I like the corrupted more for the constant glow.

Anyone here have a corrupted dagger? How is the glow? Can you tell it is glowing? Does the dagger look good? I tried you-tubing it, but wasn’t sure how well it really looks.

I’m somewhat of a rare weapon skin collector and as such I own two of the corrupted daggers. To be quite honest there’s little draw to the skin other than the particle effect and even that has flaws. The effect itself looks as if the glow isn’t properly bound to the image of the dagger but a bit below it rather. The flaw is hard to notice but its there none the less. Also the skin itself seems a little bulky but its a personal preference. All in all the dagger skins in this game suck and other than the legendary these are the nicest I know of. I’ve had them since about late September and never changed skins but never truly felt satisfied either.

Thanks a ton Eros mate that helps a good deal, how strong is the glow? I just picked up an inquest/mystic spike for the lightning effect, and you can almost barely tell the lightning is there, that is what I am most afraid of about getting the corrupted dagger. Is the glow strong?

The glow is strong when standing there, it’s a glacial color though so hard to show while swinging. I wear abyss dye with them to really bring it out. It’s stronger than mystic items for sure. A bit like ac weapon glow

Here’s a few screens. It’s a bit brighter in-game. The screenshot doesn’t seem to pick up all the effects. Also note that my thief is a norn so the daggers are quite a bit larger than they would be on the smaller races. And for anyone who isn’t a thief, the blue/black/red streaks are not a part of the weapon’s particle effect.

I guess if you can picture it, it looks a bit like the blue frost aura around Mr. Freeze in batman movies/games.

Nice pics Jonny thanks I saw them and the info you guys gave and decided to make a corrupted dagger today. I am very happy with it (partly because we got screwed without any other particle effect daggers, would love to have a vision of the most dagger). Anyways thanks a bunch.

It looks like Norn tier 3 cultural armor.

I got the vanity bug a few weeks ago and picked one up. I don’t regret it. I also farmed for a Jormag’s Breath sword to go with it. Love the combo. Currently working on another shard for my S/D – D/x build to finish it off. I’d say it’s defiantly worth it if you PvE for it. If you try to do it only in WvW then you will have a bad time. Farm the mobs in Frostgorge (that path west of Jormag) they drop T6 mats and the loadstones needed to craft it. Get someone to craft it for you instead of buying it straight up.

Just a warning because I did this, you cannot buy an Etched shard of whatever then turn it into Rage by adding a new sigil. Since it soul-binds when you add the sigil it won’t let you use it as a crafting material. So the Shaman’s Etched Shard of Rage is more expensive for that reason.

Not too many particle effect daggers out there.

Off the top of my head

Incinerator, corrupted, AC, wintersday, fractal dagger, arah dagger

There needs to be an infinite light dagger, or something…
