Are Scholar runes still the thing for a thief or have they moved to another? Haven’t played in a few months now.

Pack/vamp is what i see mostly if youre a ganker for a group in wvw scholar can work still.

Which modes? For PvE it’s Scholar Runes by far because Thief can’t use any precision in their runes since they can already reach near 100% with a power rune. For PvP, WvW it depend on your build, but Pack or Vamp are the most popular right now.

Mostly dabble in Pve with the wuvwuv on the side.

You’ll be fine with scholar still in that case

Pack is a great Rune for all game modes.
Scholar is the best for PvE from what I hear. I personally use it sometimes for full glass D/D in WvW. It’s also an option for organised Focus Party compositions.
Vampire Rune is a solid choice for PvP and maybe WvW, the make or break point for the Vamp Rune is based on the extent to where you can rely on your teammates to back you up. If your party doesn’t have the capability to pick you up after that mist form then this rune is really just a way of avoiding the inevitable for an extra three seconds.
I’ve always been a great fan of the Pack Rune because it’s good in every situation.

Yes Scholar for dungeon runs, since you can have a banner of discipline/ spotter (or both) buffs in your party. However the specialization patch nerfed accuracy rates for meta Zerker. I cannot easily reach 100% crit since then, and went with ruby orbs till i figured out if I should mix in assassins gear. Even then I’m sitting at 68% with out fury, and I’m running a signit of agility, and accuracy sigils.
