The topic says it all. Just looking for somebody with more knowledge than me to help me out with armor. I play a condtion thief and am looking for a new armor set. The pieces can be mixed and matched.

I’m thinking of going this route on my thief as well. Im just about lvl 60 and have been successful with it so far.

Trinkets will all be Apoth or Settlers. Armor will be Rabid. Haven’t decided on runes yet, but something that stacks condi dmg or duration makes the most sense.

Tinkering around with the buildcrafter I noticed that with full Rabid and Settlers trinkets, you have just enough health and power to get by without making yourself glass, which is good because it’s a pressure style of play to begin with.

Can’t go wrong with Soldiers and slapping ruby orbs on all the things.

I’m thinking my runes will be undead. I’m just not sure if I should use karma armor from the temples in Orr, or if there is some better stuff out there.

I just hit 80 a few days ago and loaded up on a set of named (Vatlaaw’s) armor, which I slotted full with Undead runes. Vaatlaw’s gives Precision+Toughness+Condition Damage (I’m specced for conditions w/ D/D mainly) and the Undead runes give Toughness/Condition Dmg. Trinkets are (so far) mainly Precision+Toughness+Condition or Toughness+Vitality+Condition Dmg (I’m also traited to use Toughness to add additional damage).

So far, so good, but I wonder if there’s something out there that’s better… It’s definitely OK in Cursed Shores; we’ll see how it does in dungeons though (haven’t done many of them nor Fractals since reaching 80 and getting my Grandmaster’s training manual).

Go for Rabid for armor balanced with Tought/Vit/Cnd on your ascend gear like rings, neck, acces, etc.

I just bought some of that whispering temple armor with my karma in Orr :s. Where is the best place to get rabid and carrion gear?

There are no rabid exo chest gear unless you do WvW. You can buy carrion off the TP though.

EDIT: You also need to get the rabid trinkets from the balthazar temple.

Go on the tp and type in Vatlaaw’s.

Go on the tp and search through trinkets and you will find rabid ones for all options.

There are no rabid jewels however so to get close to regular exotic trinket stats you have to get ascended gear. I use crests but they are not the same.

Almost my entire engineer’s rabid gear set was obtained through the TP. Only the rings and amulet weren’t.

Rabid trinkets are from dwayna.

Edit: Also this being mainly a bleed build I recommend going for condition duration over damage. Essentially I think it would be better to take 2 runes of lyssa and 4 nightmare runes over undead.

Personally I would probably go full rabid and maybe get some sigil procs going but only if you put points into acrobatics and/or have strong condition removal. Otherwise since thieves have low hp it is best to try to incorpate some into your build if running conditions.

Lol yeah I just remembered. I havn’t really gone to temples since the farming nerf there.
