I am new to Thief and thought i would look at some potential builds etc… I see many forum posts/builds referencing ‘Backstab’. From what i can see there is no move called backstab… so what do they actually mean?

backstab is main hand dagger skill while in stealth. and from behind deals massive damage.

You will be using the following sequence:

Basilisk Venom (to immobilize the enemy on next hit) – Steal (to shadowstep at the target and deal damage) – Cloak and Dagger (to stealth and deal damage) – Backstab (to deal damage).

You will go for Power/Precision stats. One major trait will be Mug.

And that’s it.

^ just to extend on this statement you can actually use basalisks venom then cnd and then steal this will land the steal first and the cnd right after (almost at the same time) then backstab. its a minor adjustment but very important when trying to burst down people in tpvp

I just use Basilisk Venom → Steal → Backstab → Finish

yes, you can do what they said and be a kamikaze thief. you can kill 1 opponent and then got killed by the second one
or you can play your thief using backstab and other skills/utilities/trait and be a real pain in the a…
