So, what’s the consensus on this skill these days? It seems to me to be very underpowered, if for no other reason than the Petrify doesn’t stack so you only ever get a 1 second stun out of it.

Was this done to give you an extra chance at applying the petrification? I suppose that makes sense, but it seems to me that if both hits connect they should stack. It is an elite skill after all.

I’ve stopped using Basi Venom in WvW. So many good roaming builds run loads of stability/insta stability/reflect/insta fear traits. You’ll only get use out of it in very specific situations and rare situations.

I run the Trickster trait with Dagger Storm (with Withdraw and Roll for Initiative) or Impact Strike for 1vX Insta stomps.

I’d love to see a buff to Basi venom to make it at least unblockable. I would love Basi venom if it didn’t take away stacks on all failed applications but that would be really OP.

I wish it did more break bar damage in PvE too.

I’d rather stun people with Impact Strike, personally. Gap closer + dmg. Only problem is the 3rd hit is UP and only useful if they’re downed and not in invuln frames.

I still use basilisk venom, since its arguably the strongest elite for thief. Just don’t initiate with it :P.

Or do and burn one of their stun breaks. W.e works honestly.

It should be a nice break bar stripper if you use it under venom share though. I don’t think it’s a crime that Basilik Venom has been turned into a niche Elite since it could be a very useful one if your team is on point. I think at this point the leash BV had of the cast time and a countdown for use can be given some slack due to all of the stability and general stiff arm skills everyone has for you.

Since it still wont stack, I’d rather have it’s countdown to use taken out and and let us bank one of the charges in Stolen skill slot or something, it’s a preped Elite anyway so they can make the cast time as long as they want.
