The elite Basilisk Venom which is supposed to petrify your enemy for 1 second on your next attack has never not even once ever worked for me. Never has it petrified any enemy I’ve ever attacked, whether it be in PvE or PvP. Nothing at all, not even a stun, no petrification absolutely nothing – I don’t even like this elite as it’s just a glorified 1 second stun with a 45 secoond cooldown that has a cast time, however I cannot use any other elite underwater other than this one. If I’m forced to use this elite then it should at the very least work.

Are you swinging your weapon all the time?

I run into this problem underwater (where Basilisk Venom is the only elite) a lot. I’ll activate Basilisk Weapon, then tap-tap “1” as I’m closing in on my target, just to try to get an early hit in. And the first time I attack nothing, it seems to clear the venom even though I haven’t hit anything.

I use the harpoon gun underwater and I put up my venom just before combat, I then target the enemy and attack and the first attack DOES hit the enemy as the harpoon gun is ranged, everything should be fine but the venom simply does not apply. It never does, this ability has never worked under any circumstance.

Yes i have the same problem underwater.

I quicky learnt i basically didn’t have an elite underwater as a thief, and even if it gets fixed it will still be the case.

It’s kind of terrible only being able to use a 1 second cast venom that lasts 1.5 seconds, due to the attack speed of our spear we can theoretically apply the venom with the first hit and it will have worn off when we land our last hit… so all in all it’s just a terrible PvE venom, although it could be worse, we could be elementalists and need to spend 30 points for our underwater elite.

IMO Basilisk venom is terrible in all aspects and needs to be replaced with something a bit more interesting / useful.

The issue is with effect of basilisk venom (probably a bug)
Untraited basilisk venom uses single venom charge at start of attack, effectively wasting it for almost all slow attacks before they actually finish “casting”. Traited basilisk venom has both ticks working as they should (used up at the end of swing)
