You make some valid points, isendal, and I agree that other professions also have non-elite elite skills. The problem I have with it though, is you need to rune and/or trait BV to make it good. On it’s own it is no where near as effective. With runes &/ traits it is a very good skill and worthy of the elite status.

At the end of the day, it’s a useful skill so I will still continue to use it and overall I like the skill. I just do not see it as an elite skill, when non-elites are better. I also just look at it as an extra utility skill. It’s just a shame we cannot equip other utility slots in the elite slot, as I can think of better u-skills I’d rather have in place of my elite skill.

Another thing to note, is when the game was being hyped and early in it’s release, Anet said that elite skills were supposed to be long coodown skills that had the power to turn the tide of battle in your favour. I guess this viewpoint has changed.

OMG ALL BUFFS EVERY 45s?!?!? WOW!………………….. not. its only for 5secs….usless. you get 1 hit out of it or 1 hit recieved…… NOT a game changer. the removing conditions would be awesome with it if it were instant….ubt its just ok when its almsot 2s cast.

and you cant gauge a skills value on a set of runes. you have to look at it by itself. and as it sits its the worst stun in game.

It’s quite easy to land in the confusion of a team fight or with the proper immobilize/CC setup, much like a kill-shot warrior or SD engi. But that’s getting off-topic.

Maybe it should turn the enemy into a Basilisk. I’ve come across quite a few Mesmers that would enjoy the courtesy returned.

This is something that I’d actually really like, perhaps make it so that it will activate 10 seconds after it is applied if the thief is not downed to give it some flavor…anything to make this elite feel ELITE and not like just another crappy venom.
