Guild Wars 2

I’ve been busy with life and exams so I haven’t played any gw2 for like half a year now and was wondering if its worth getting HoT and starting to play again. (didn’t really like the d/p meta back)

Couldn’t really find any Thief streamers over the last few days O.o which is who I’d normally ask.

As a sidenote I don’t care much for PvE and currently only play thief (thus thief forum, duh)

Hows the current state of Thief and sPvP (WvW) in general? And wow staff for thief, I must say I am kinda disappointed and the thief forum doesn’t really look like that encouraging ^^

I got a refund on my preorder the first day of BWE3, so I can’t advise you on HoT (Other than that I don’t believe Anets work was worth 50 bucks).

As for PvP’r, do you want to play Player vs player, or player vs capture point? If you want to have a decent chance of killing any other class running a meta spec, thief is not the class for you. Thieves only current viable roles are +1 and Decap.

This might change as the HoT meta developes, but since they didn’t bother to fix any of core thiefs problems AND Daredevil appears underwhelming compared to alot of the other elite specs (at least it was at BWE3, though I believe it got some buffs I’m unfamiliar with), I wouldn’t count on it.

S/D, S/P, P/P, D/D, and Staff all seem to have viable builds with Daredevil. We have good bruiser builds, interrupt builds, and condi builds in addition to the old D/P meta. Also, the dodges are very stylish if that means anything to you. I’m optimistic, though I feel bad for those stuck with vanilla thief.
