The title says it all. Thief has been my first toon, first class, and was my first 80. The problem i have is i can’t survive that well in wvw, i believe it to be my armor set then again I do suck. Help me out will you my fellow thieves.

Traits: 0/6/6/2/0
D/D & SB
Zerk dagger with sigil of force / Assassin dagger with lifesteal (play mobas)
Armor in order from head going down to boots; zerk,cav,soldier,cav,zerk,zerk
Trinket are all ascended with Zerk/Valk stats

I think you are going on right path of starter. I would get rid of lifesteal on dagger. Use fire or air on it instead. Armor isnt your problem. What rune do you have and utilities… also I see your traits… and I assume you using SA
1. Recove condi. 2. Gain ini when stealth. 3. Heal in stealth ?

If so. You should be able survive pretty well. If you jave issue with CnD. Then I would start out with dagger/pistol. Its fairly simple to use.

There’s a lot of things to do in WvW, can you add more specific detail on what you like to do in WvW?

You can literally use and build or armor if you stick with the commander running a zerg. Even if you go down, there’s a lot of player will raise you up in no time.

If you’re going off alone, then you might want to do a bit more research on builds and playstyle.

With your build i’d go 2 zero armor pieces rest Valk ( or all Valk ) and Cav trinks assuming you are running hidden killer.

As for dying , well you can’t help that no matter how legit your gear is you won’t survive every fight esp outnumbered ones which i assume are the type you usually get into.

cnd is your friend for survivability! :>

All armor valk and all trinkets and weapons zerk is how I go for dd. Also would recommend using fire and air sigils for more dmg potential and either runes of the wurm for high crit or pack for the power and precision buffs. Also go with cloaked in shadow instead of infusion of shadow as ini regen goes fast enough to support CnD+Backstab on its own

As for playing, it helps to look at vids on youtube of how other people play and then try it out. Heres a list of good people you can watch:
