Best way to deal with necros?
I guess it’s the rock-paper-scissors working here. Since I’m pure glass and the condition type necro can counter that. I’m assuming you have the same issue.
I tested going D/D whirley spam and destroyed the same type of necro with scary ease though..

If it is about condi necros then take trait on condi removal on eveade and kill them. If it’s about power necros then just kill them.
If necro does not have life force, he is a free frag. Overwise you have to wait out his shroud and then kill him…
And of course it depends on your build.

I have learnt a lot from pvp. The key is lifeforce, don’t feed them it. I don’t attack when they are in reaper/death shroud, and I also don’t attack them while anything spectal armor is up. Condi necros are a pain and can condi nuke you (watch for signet of spite) I find it easier to beat reapers on staff then on d/p because the reaper is slow so it’s better to rely on deliberating arc and dust strike.
Death shroud is a bit trickery as it’s ranged and life blast hurts a lot. It also has a gap closer in it. If you, interupt life transfer (I think that’s the skill – the 1 that channels as that gives them life force too. It’s worth trying short bow as well for poking them.
The fight is yours, not the necros so take your time and play smart. They get stability when they enter shroud so watch when to use fear.

Shroud has a 10s cd so baiting the toggle is somewhat beneficial if possible. Also keep in mind that reaper skllls have pretty high cooldowns and somewhat choreographed animations (thinking of executioner’s scythe and soul spiral in particular) so try to save your dodges for those.
In teamfights they’re definitely easier to burst down compared to druids and chronomancers. I still think reapers are in the tier of classes that you shouldn’t try to 1v1. But haven’t done many duels against reapers tbh so I can’t say.
Long story short, kite the death shroud. When they’re in it just shadow step away or stealth spam. The necro will usually stay in shroud expecting a backstab or something, which is good because they typically just let it run completely out. That’s when you go back in to dps more.
Take your time and kite them to death.

But if your crazy like I am you will eat their shroud and dodge the big blows and be mindful of the chill but that takes experience.. Just had a legendary reaper (probably boosted) raging at me calling thieves cheap was a good night cap.

Sword dagger, if that’s what you play, has a pretty easy time with Necros when played correctly right now. Dagger pistol seems to take a lot more timing and difficulty.

I generally find kiting/harassing with shortbow works well when they’re in shroud. Use the skull fear only when they come out of shroud. They can do very little whilst being feared outside of shroud, so use this moment to cleave away. If they have Unholy Sanctuary, don’t get greedy with your cleave, back off and ensure you interrupt the heal after the last bit of shroud wears off.

I play With everything but s/d never liked it, doesn’t flow well.. D/p / staff my usual choices sb on switch also have condi set up and believe it or not p/p set up that I’ve had success with which to be successful you need to know how to kite and when to run…

MM necros can be hard.
Otherwise, the key to beating necros is lots of interrupts and having condi cleanse available. Their heal is very telegraphed and an easy target for headshot. Withdraw is a must. Trickery, Deadly arts, Daredevil, D/P with pulmonary impact, bound and trickster works quite well.
When they sit in their marks, use bound→ steal, or black powder → bound → steal. Create space and kite when they go reaper. Be prepared to dodge their ice block CC.
S/D does work, but it will take longer. It simply doesn’t have enough damage output. A 1v1 will often turn into a 2v1 before you can beat a necro with lifeforce. Staff also works, but it can stuggle vs condi / hybrid necros, as you have less ability to lock them down and so will so take more hits.
Staff probably has an easier job with MM necros than d/p, but I tend to find MM necros quite rare these days.
