Black Powder/Heartseeker/Steel Combo?
I’m not sure what you’re trying to accomplish but if you remove Mug, you won’t be revealed.
Full set of 5 unique skills for both dual-wield weapon sets: P/P and D/D – Make it happen
PvE – DD/CS/AC – If that didn’t work, roll a Reaper or Revenant.
You don’t need the Hidden Thief trait, you just have to use Steal the split second you start leaving the ground, then start mashing 1, so if you’re in the air, it’s too late. I believe you can use Infiltrator’s Signet instead of Steal if you can’t get the timing down.

So, stealth isn’t applied until the end of the leap. If you notice you can black powder→Heartseeker. Your heart seeker will do it’s damage THEN you are stealthed. So, you can combine your leap through black power with steal to apply heart seeker damage and mug damage before the stealth takes effect, putting you in a great position to backstab.
Is there perhaps a video that shows this trick?
Starting or finishing a combo finisher inside a combo field will create the combo effect when the skill with the combo finisher ends. Anything done inbetween will not cancel the combo. Using steal before the combo finishes means mug landing before the combo effect - stealth - is applied, meaning it will not cause reveal.

at the risk of getting this nerfed…..i second the motion of seeing this in action.

Mug doesnt cause it to fail…
You could in theory fire a bazooka the quarter of the second at the start of heartseeker and still get stealth…

Friend, father & lover!
blackpowder makes a smoke field, you leap trough it to become stealthed via heartseeker and then you use steal to shadow step to a enemy.
normally you will remain stealthed and wont become revealed.
However having a trait that makes Steal deal dmg will reveal you (as you made direct damage)
