Sometimes when I use blinding powder it won’t stealth me. For example, if I teleport to a mob using steal and immediately after use blinding powder it doesn’t do anything, and it’s always like that after I use steal.

Do you happen to have the “Hidden Thief” traited? It might be possible if you do, you’re getting stealth immediately when you steal, but don’t notice it because you attack right away, then when you go to use blinding powder you might still have a second of Reveal on.

Otherwise I have no idea and its probably a bug x3

Do you have your auto attack set to automatic?
Since a few patches ago Blinding Powder will no longer interrupt your current action, so it might happen that it doesn’t interrupt your auto attack chain and that the auto attack actually pops you into revealed after you steal and go into melee range.

yea I’m getting this problem too and it’s definitely not being broken because of that auto attack thing

There’s a thing called revealed for thieves. After you leave stealth, you cannot reapply stealth for 6 seconds. This is displayed by a countdown icon that is an eye that blinks where your boons/conditions are shown. When this symbol is up, you cannot re-stealth for it’s duration.

Actually it’s 3s in pve/wvw, 4s in pvp, 6s only from rangers/engies, forever from stealth trap :P

I had a pretty rough experience with reveal last night. Got chased by enemy zerg and reveal was applied on me 3 times in a row

There’s also a bug when being stealthed and teleporting. Sometimes it shows you as no longer invis but you actually are if you look at the buffs…

Either that or check your revealed debuff. You can’t stealth when it’s up.

I get this bug also sometimes. It’s just as if the graphic card failed to render me invisible but the server knows I am in stealth so other players cannot see me.

Theres a problem with both Blinding Powder and Hidden Thief breaking stealth immediately after casting it. If you’re range attacking and cast powder the bullet will break stealth once it hits, even though you fired it before casting. Hidden Thief doesn’t stop any auto attacks after you’re using it by stealing to enemy makes you break it with melee automatically instead of just backstabbing them and makes no sense~ don’t remember if blinding powder stops auto attack chain.

I have sheath weapon bound to R and normally press it before using Blinding Powder to prevent it from failing. It’s tedious but that’s what we have to deal with. Thief has time bugs/mechanic flaws that haven’t been fixed and may never be.
