Here’s the build I scrapped up, and I’m playing a much worse version of it right now(whatever is available at the moment – I’m only taking my first steps in the condition realm)

Not to brag, But I’ve already managed to solo a 250/250 camp in one go without going anywhere below 50% HP – 10-15 lvl 82 guards running around and painfully dying in conditions.
And later I’ve noticed a downed warrior inbetween the numerous caltrops. Apparently he tried to stop me :C
Healing Power may seem redundant(I’m still thinking on the choice of accessories), but then again Signet of Malice procs a lot of times… Really a lot of times. Caltrops.
Stat numbers are really confusing because it doesn’t count in wvw bonuses/sigil bonus.
20K HP/1.7-1.8k condition damage is more realistic(+250 sigil, +100 wvw, +x might, +250 vitality and +x% HP wvw bonuses)

why do you have 1 point in shadow arts? are you the only player in the game that thinks that “last refuge” is a good trait?

Where is the condition removal? Why healing power with no healing traits

This build looks good at taking camps but not actually fighting other players

Krait/Perplexity/Aristocracy is better than Nightmare you’re not a necromancer

Krait/Perplexity/Aristocracy is better than Nightmare you’re not a necromancer

Last Refuge is a good trait for people who know when they are below 25%.
Krait/Perplexity are decent, but condition duration has a cap and there’s no going further than 100%. and 4 second fear is a great answer for shenanigans.
Aristocracy = super trash rune
traits are a bit “borked” but condition removal appears magically out of pain response and shadowstep(blinding powder is situational, and pain response is actually a staple, hard to catch somehow appeared there.. magically.)

Also true. Just most thieves do not watch their HP enough or are trying to continuously spam skills. LR is a lifesaver if used correctly.

LR is a lifesaver if used correctly.

No it isn’t at all because there are too many variables during a fight to make it useful. Anyone good at any PvP will test a thief before they hit 25% to see of they’re traited in shadow arts and purposely make it proc when it’s too late to stop your current attack so you get revealed and no way to get away.

Some builds burst too fast and too much to control when Last refuge will proc. In sPvP it’s an even worst trait to rely on due to no stealth captures.

Depending on where you tend to play a build that relies on Last refuge as a get away, I wouldn’t suggest relying on Last refuge in any application except PvE where damage is very predictable.

In WvW if you want a stealth that procs with no active combat from you, take descent of shadows. At least you control when that procs and can be used for a free get of jail card when things are sour. Even more so since there’s a lot of places in WvW where you can drag the fight to your advantage with descent of shadows.

The biggest problem to controlling Last refuge is the fact when it’s about to proc, you have to stop attacking and lose DPS or get revealed and at 25% health or below, I would not want revealed to ram it’s ugly head into the fight because you lose many defensive moves without stealth.

In short, do not rely on Last refuge as a get away or game changer because 90% of the time, it’ll make you lose against anyone who knows what you’re traited into, or knows how to control their bursts. One good timed burst and you have revealed.

Tiger
