Guild Wars 2

I am still a bit new to thief for the most part, my current almost at 50.
I’ve been using S/D and SB up till now and it’s been loads of fun, especially S/D which I think I’m going to probably use forever lol. Haven’t tried sPvP yet, other than to test out builds and such, but after playing with SB for a while I am not really into it even though yeah it’s pretty awesome.

After reading a lot about D/P, I wanted to test it out too but not really sure what I should be aiming for. From what I understand, I should be trying to focus on stacking bleeds and poisons right? However I am confused because the build I’m using for S/D
(0/20/30/20/0) kind of gimps me a bit I think unless I completely change the traits around. I’m going for a crit build and so far have put nothing for condition dmg.

Is there some way I can have best of both? Plan my armor sets to make up for the lack of condition dmg support that I have set my traits to? Or am I not understanding enough about the builds or something :/

D/P doesn’t stack bleeds… P/D does.

D/P is akin to D/D (backstabs) other than you use black powder + hearseeker (primarily) to gain stealth. It is very initiative intensive, so you’ll want to trait for that (and probably use Infiltrator’s Signet as well)

If you meant P/D then it’s a totally different build and totally different gear. You use primarily sneak attack from stealth to stack 5 bleeds on your target quickly.

You could use power/pre/cond dmg gear.. but then you’ll have low crit damage… and you’ll miss the high survival of a pure condition damage set… and have lower damage bleeds as well… I saw a video of some one using D/D P/D with that gear but tbh… I wouldn’t advise it. I would rather be really good at one rather than just ok at 2.
