Yes i can spam black powder as far as i have initiative… but that radius is so tiny for wvw
Think about offensive uses for shadow refuge (dark field) and consider AoE weakness from blasting your poison fields as a form of “soft cc”.
Thieves are about “doing more with less”.

as of the recent poison field nerf, thieves CANT blast their own poison field at range, cb is too slow and the field doesnt last long enough, so forget about the aoe weakness since the trait was also nerfed
Trait gives weakness on poison…..might be a solution to that problem Shemsu.

We have access to: Daze, Pull, Knockdown, Stun, Immobilize, Chilled, Weakness, Cripple, and Blind, as what I’d consider “control”. (not to mention interrupt as a side effect)
My standard 2/0/3/3/6 has access to Daze, Stun, Immobilize, Chill, Blind, Cripple, and Weakness (s/d, p/d). This seems like ample control in my opinion, and it seems like most thief builds can obtain control skills without much effort.
edit: Though I see that you propose more AOE control effects. I certainly wouldn’t say no to more control, but we have access to AOE immob, AOE blind, AOE weakness, and AOE cripple, off the top of my head.
For AOE weakness (and blind from blast finishers), we do require our AOE weapon set, SB, and being very close to the field we want to “blast” if we want to SB blast more than once, but this seems fine to me.
