“This is for all my Thief brothers and sisters! ArenaNet has clearly shown time and time again they cater to the whiners, the inept, the unwilling to adapt. Today we got news of even more nerfs in the pipeline.
I call to you, my fellow Thieves, with a request to boycott gem purchasing and trading (for gems) until ArenaNet stops the senseless nerfing, that with their track record will never stop. Until ArenaNet uses creative thinking and increases the viability of our non burst builds, and increases the viability of our other weapon sets. Until ArenaNet fixes bugs before resorting to nerfing.
I call this the Honor Among Thieves Initiative, yes pun intended.
Stand firm!
Lets hit them where it hurts, their wallets!

How about we actually see what the changes are before boycotting.

Chirst, the freaking thief community makes me feel like changing class more than anet nerfs or whiners.

No thanks. I main a Thief and it’s incredibly evident that some changes are necessary to level the playing field. Also, that just won’t work. You’ll barely make a modicum of a dent in the gem market.

Please stop while you’re ahead. I don’t even want to have a whiff of this “initiative” tainting my main profession.

The upcoming changes are just a drop in the barrel of liquid excrement. I’ve already stopped supporting the company long before this call for boycott.

What I believe Knyx is trying to get across is that Anet is listening to all the ‘nerf thief cos its op’ QQ threads on these forums, BEFORE they are fixing known bugs and fixing less useful weapon sets, on not just thief but among all classes (also rendering issue comes to mind) which i believe is completely fair and agree with. However as Auesis said, boycotting the gem store will barely make a dent in Anet’s pocket. And although seems good in theory, i somehow don’t see all thieves following the word of one person telling them to stop spending money.

Wow, and here i thought i was a major advocate for thieves standing up for themselves but there are major problems with this initiative.

1: this is most major issue, Not all thieves buy gems or buy stuff from the gem store, i for one do not do so
2: boycotting them prematurely is very bad, always has been always will be. Maybe wait for the changes to come out before doing anything drastic like this

I think petitioning for anet to fix all the bugs and uselessness first befpre ANYMORE balance changes will be our best course of action. Taking a stance is good, but this is too much.

Basically we are the only class that received a nerf with every major patch , sooner or later I think there will be nothing to nerf and probably render the class useless. Heartseeker is gone , pistol whip is gone with the upcoming changes probably so will backstab dagger usage and finally the death of blossom bleed will come after. I wonder what we are gonna play on our thiefs then.
