Guild Wars 2

So I will make this short and sweet. I used to run an all thief wvw guild from around launch till about 4 months after launch. We had a great time, everyone contributed.
We did not require 24/7 rep, but had scheduled times to be on our thieves in wvw most days of the week and ran together.

Ever wonder what it would be like with 20 thieves popping Thieves’ Guild elite and scaring off a zerg? Done that.

Well, just as to get a little footing, I wanted to make a thread to see who would be interested in joining if such a guild was remade?

We would, of course vote on the server, and I’d def prefer one in with T3-5 range.

I’m leveling a thief atm just for WvW. I’m on SoS. So down if you pick that server!!

On Isle of Janthir at the moment. My guild currently consists of a whopping 3 people. While we have multiple 80s, we most recently just roam on our thieves as a trio. It’s a good time.

Sounds interesting and fun.

This sounds like something my thief would love to join! Have roamed a few times with larger thief groups, popping dagger storm and thieves guild creating chaos! ;D

I’m more of a solo player, so I think I’ll pass, but the idea is great.

i think im gonna pass, any thing more than a 5 man thief roaming solo im out, i do roam solo or with 2-4 guys thieves or not. if you zerg on an all thief you get rolled easily by enemy zerg, just eles, guardians are a pain. plus those thieves guild are pretty much paper.

but you can troll the enemy zerg once you dive in, all go stealth D/P style, blinds and leave thieves guild then flank them.

hahah its not coz its gonna be ultra powerful its coz its gonna be fun ofc a normal zerg would flatten a zerg of thiefs . A zerg of guards would be so much stonger and prob unstoppable if play right and tbh you dont have to play well with a guard and you can stil make a big impact. Alsocan u imagine a zerg of Mesmers holy f that would be so confusioning for both sides.

Well I’m not looking to make a “Thief zerg”. 10-20 most nights actively would be perfect. Also thinking that a zerg of X class would be better is not thinking outside of the box. Fighting them head-on where they are strongest would certainly mean a loss/retreat for the thieves.

We would be, of course, playing to our strong suit and utilizing guerilla tactics. Picking off stragglers 1-2 by 1-2 instantly, maybe more. In and out attacks as well, and catching zergs off guard. We won’t be sitting in X tower/keep defending that is for sure.

As I said, my vote will be for CD or SoS, which I haven’t added to the tally because if it comes to a tie breaker I will utilize it in that way. I should have also mentioned that this will be for US servers NOT EU.

I will begin creation of the guild, and get setup, but am looking to transfer (and get all/most members on the same server) in around 2 weeks/3 max. I am still running with VS on SF, but they know of my plans.

Last night in Isle of Janthir borderlands there were around 10-15 theives either from Darkhaven or Denrova’s Rest. Can’t remember the guild name, but they were all thieves and did a pretty good job of clean up on a lot of people.

What builds are you hoping people run with in this guild? Or do you not really care?

Very curious about this guild, keeping an eye on the server you choose. But if it happened to be on Fort Aspenwood, I would deff join.

IoJ- Isle of Janthir is my vote. We already have some pretty solid thief groups roaming on a daily basis and have just started a weekly thief discussion group to share tactics such as aoe stealthing techniques, perma-stealthing, and how to solo camps and towers

Ive seen 5 thieves wipe 25 man zergs in t-2 many times hehe ..This could be epic . I thought of doing same thing but idk ,may just get boring ! I do like the idea though . And to me this IS thinking outside the box ! Having half your thiefs perma blind while the other half pop dagger storm would surely impact that zerg in a negative manner .

Isle of Janthir would love to have an All-thieves guild. <3

3 thieves is already enough for roaming around and enjoy it… more is just another mindless zerg, I’ll pass

4 of the 6 we were running with last night were thieves. I think they know not to nerf us.

I’d be interested. I work 2 jobs though so people would have to be cool with either a lenient schedule or letting me miss some “raid” times.

Looks like Isle of Janthir has quite a lead. I was hoping for SoS or CD but a vote is a vote. I will end the voting Sunday, as to give people a week to prepare and transfer

As for builds, it will depend on how many members we have any given night, and in the same group. If we actually managed 15-20, we could have a really good mix of builds, but if it is smaller in size it will probably be roaming viable builds.

The guild structure is going to be a good balance of casual and hardcore, and 24/7 rep not required. Just about everything of importance will be a vote between the members (or officers if we get big enough), but with such we will probably need some people that are willing to offer things like maybe a website (in the future), someone who is good at being a camera man for youtube vids, etc etc.

Also, this might be a stupid question but does IoJ have a public voice comm?
