Can I get some opinions on a build?
What is the purpose of the build? Fractals, WvW, solo PvE? No build is optimal for everything.
Ratbag Dogsticker (Guardian)
…Yak’s Bend
oops yeah I should have said wvw

Looks like pve (life steal food and might on stealth and a slightly confused set of gear)
Therefore I have no idea! Someone else take this one
It is a WvW build obviously.
I think that any build have it chances for life. But:
-Prime source of damage is Backstabs, i guess, and 53% precision is not enough to maximize it potential at all, even with perma fury it will be a solid chance to kitten your damage completely.
-Picking feline’s grace is a good choice regarding withdraw and vigorous recovery, and as D/D you’re good at dodging, but you should check how do you feel without health regen while in stealth, assuming that you always will be melee’ing your target with dd+dp
Suggestions for your build:
-Pick hidden killer
-Valkyrie armor
And If you trust me, that i’m experienced thief:
-pick a bow instead dp,
-take shadow’s rejuvenation,
-drop feline’s grace,
-drop withdraw,
-take fleet shadow
-take hide in shadows
And here you are: melee D/D thief with capability of doing 1v3-4 easily in WvW
But still, as a stealth oriented build, you can have problems with targets running away from you.
Good luck.

welp that is literally exactly what i’m running now, was thinking of changing it up a bit… guess I should just leave well enough alone.
Edit: also its a s/p swap not a d/p

My bad, then I’m sure you should drop s/p as a set that has zero access to stealth and zero benefit from it (tactical strike is a meh) when you have pistol whip and headshot, while you picking SA (stealth line)
He has way more than enough precision for executioner to be optimal unless he only ever fights squishies that die in 1 crit backstab. If he wants to run valk instead of DPS that’s a different story.
S/p will get you kills when somebody tries to revive and give you a bit of teleport mobility (an extra 900 range is a Lot), but d/p will keep you alive vs other thiefs and let you chase with 3 spam plus have on demand stealth, that’s the main difference.
I think running dagger storm is asking to be humiliated these days with the increasing prevalence of boon stripping, so do so at your own risk.
D/d benefits a lot from signets. Shadows lets your heartseekers travel further for easier escapes (turn off auto target lol.) and infiltrators gives you a second teleport for cloak and dagger, which is nice in a chaotic fight. Scorp wire functions similarly if you want to pull targets to your teammates.
I don’t generally run shortbow in WvW anymore unless its a siege situation, but mileage may vary as I find it very useful in spvp, so maybe it does have a home
in wvw i m running 25/30/15
sometimes i miss regen in stealth.. the only problem is it.. i always begin with bv, C&D, steal and backstab.. but then it s hard if my opponent spams of cripple.. regen is very good sustain.. it’s so difficult find a balance build..
before it i ran 10/30/30.. losing around 1k of damage in backstab..
in the end, i think, the best build is one u master better
I think your build is good!
I would try and get more toughness, maybe trade off some of that precision in your trinkets for it (you will need it if you like roam)
That being said change your trait to “hidden killer” and get that crit to 100% in stealth,
In my build I have 1800 armor, 115% crit damage and 16.2k health with food also 3400 attack I can show you in detail if you want.
As for your skills/utility I suggest hide in shadows and basilisk venom (quick cd) instead of what you have now , I like withdraw but since you have shadow step thats a good enough way of getting some distance between you and your target.
