Can we have ricochet back?
I logged in just to say yes.
I want to be able to have a halfway full kit.
Right now it’s a gimmick build.

Oh please, please, please, give me back Ricochet for my pistols!
And piercing for the engineer pistol while they’re at it, ruining perfectly enjoyable builds for no good reason…
I miss ricochet. Would even be nice if they added it to just Vital Shot or change Body Shot to a useful damage ricochet aoe.
Can also throw in there that they made daggers cleave to solve the issue of hitting pets instead of the target too often. My bullets are often easily blocked by pets/summons/clones making it impossible to hit people. ;o

Ricochet or piercing should be added to thief pistols, and if you really wanna spice things up add a blast finish to bodyshot

Yes please! it would be awesome to be able to target more than single foe with dual pistols, that or rework unload to target at least 3 foes in a cone shaped area infront of thief
I don’t want ricochet back, but I’ll take piercing for specific skills (Unload and Sneak Attack specifically). Unload would probably have to take a damage hit because being able to body block is one of the reasons Unload can be so loaded as a skill in the first place.

I play d/p – p/p on a high enough level in WvW to say that p/p is powerful enough like it is. Ofc i’d like to see Riccochet back because it’s a big dmg boost but either the price for that will be that everyone is complaining about how super op thief is and everyone will play braindead p/p OR the price is that somewhere else we get a nerf to compensate.
Lemme tell you, i don’t want either of the consequences.
Edit: I love the idea from ardhikaizecson to have a cone shaped area in front of you to hit with Unload.

Yeah we can spam unload.. But believe me, in pvp you get punished by that, with the share amount of projectile reflextion.. So have no idea why we cannot have a 1200+ option.. I mean even our steal reach further thn our arrows and bullets..
As long as ricochet wouldn’t be implemanted at the cost of the actual power of fire of the dual pistol set (meaning this addition would be juged balanced) why not…
I wouldn’t like to have a decrease of the actual power of fire of the dual pistol set (mainly vital shot, sneak Attack, and unload with might) or to lose one of the different control offered by the set, or even one of any actual traits of the specializations…
I use a double pistol thief for a lonnnnnnng time now.
Correctly builded (with some daredevil traits) and played a double pistol thief is an efficient mono target character and is more interesting to play than is was in the past, even with ricochet.

1200 range just won’t happen…
The devs are under the impression that thieves can’t have a long-ranged option when they have all the initiative, they pretty much decide when to engage and disengage, so whether or not you kill a thief depends on whether or not the thief is stupid enough to stay around and fight when he should be running.
Basically we have all the tools we need to easily close the gap, and shouldn’t be able to attack from the edges of a combat-zone when we have the best tools to escape an encounter.
Is their impression anyway, that’s not my impression. Sure, we can run, but that’s all we are known for now, decaps, +1’s and running away, yet our impact in sPvP is… Meh.
Can’t speak for wvw, as I never tried it.
I agree with the actual 900 range too…after all a thief isn’t a ranger.
TwiceDead.1963 is right we have different Tools to engage and disengage (stealth or dodge specialization depending of the gameplay you prefer). According to me, double pistol is a game play of positioning. The correct management of the distance with the target is the key, specilay if you play a skirmisher around the main fight.
900 range is fine. Lack of any and all aoe whatsoever really isn’t. I’d be fine with getting Ricochet back, or with changing Unload to hit multiple targets.
It would be amazing if they brought it back, miss it so much lol.
It was also a direct counter to clone and pet spam which is where I really miss it. I understand they would need to adjust the damage so the DPS isn’t ridiculous.

Ricochet makes perfect sense, and removing it was dumb. Davis has a habit of making strange decisions then rationalizing them in ways that don’t make any sense.
With that said, I think making Unload a spray would arguably be better.

well, I’m not saying arrow ricochet makes sense.. Although, it could happen probably more easily if arrow hits the hard surface, while bullet could just weld onto the armor. BUT that’s beside the point.
Piercing and after passing through first target maybe spray targets behind in a cone.
Also, replace Pistol 2 with something that hits single target, but hits like a truck. And there you have it! Non-dull weapon set!

Bullet can easily ricochet. Bullets that ricochet one or two times are still quite lethal. Mythbusters even proved a three way bullet that bounces off three surfaces can actually hit the shooter. Course the final ricochet wasn’t lethal but it still packed a punch. Of course that is realword and doesn’t account for a world with players that can cast magic spells or magic gear in general.
