It’s like a 500+ Page of people arguing if we should get nerfed or not in WvW. I have a really bad feeling that we’re gonna get smacked in the face with something huge this month

this kind of topics are old , there was a time when there were 6-7 active topcis like this
you should ignore them, A-net make balance based on tests , not forums complains.
And thief is below average overall at this moment , i could say very poor in pve and poor in sPvP. They are good on wvwvwvw when you catch an low lvl and backstab 10k + or find an shout warrior / staf elementalists, classes with traits and gear for group fights.
