Channeling and Stealth
It should. Check previous posts.
1) Channeled skills also counter aegis and blind that only prevent one hit of damage
2) The counter to a channeled skill is an interrupt and you can still shadowstep/evade out
3) An instant skill deals all damage instantly so a channeled skill is never worse than that since there is time to interrupt
4) The channeller needs your target when the skill starts (same as an instant)
5) The channeled skill does not break stealth.
Channeling skills are much slower to apply damage than instants, often need the caster to be static, can be interrupted, other skills cannot be used at the same time, etc. They can be very weak. Stealth does not need to be yet another counter to them.
Many many treads have been made about this issue, I made one myself shortly after the game came out and not once we got any kind of replay by A-net.
No one knows if it is intended or not, basically they are ignoring us or this issue.
I think it’s a lot easier to leave a mechanic like this in than to take it out and since it gives some degree of a stealth counter, I think ANet is fine leaving it in.
it’s fine. channeling is a soft counter to stealth as it is right now
It’s not just damage skills. When guards in WvW perform their self-heal, they turn to face you while you’re in stealth, preventing a backstab, even though the heal has the NPC itself as the ‘beneficiary’ and is casting a beneficial spell.
