It’s a misnomer. There’s no such thing as “perma-stealth”. Even the video proves that.

What he’s doing is called “Shadow Arts Trolling”.

You basically cast CnD before losing stealth and when timed correctly, CnD will connect as soon as you leave stealth. If CnD connect before that, you will get revealed — and if CnD connects after that, you will be seen, albeit for a split second.

More often you will be seen in split second or a full second before re-entering stealth — which is hardly a “perma-stealth”.

Perma stealth is pointless anyways. You can’t kill anyone doing so and you put the odds against your allies by giving the enemy 1 less person to deal with. Just like those in pvp who poke and run for miles, not really helpful if you ask me.

It is possible to permastealth using D/P and utilities, but it serves no purpose other than hiding in a keep or tower or something.

CnD’ing repeatedly isn’t really permastealth, since you have to wait for stealth to end before CnDing again. But yes, that’s still possible to do.

It’s very close to perm tho, if you time it right. When the stealth icon flashes really fast (the millisecond before it goes away) you can CnD and re-stealth. Guess you knew that tho.

But as others have said, what’s the point of being in stealth all the time, besides hiding in keeps etc or trolling activities :P

As it was mentioned, perfect timing on the cast between stealth and the phase animation will net a thief permanent stealth uptime with Infusion of Shadow traited.

That said, it’s rather difficult to do against opponents who know how to deal with the class. It’s basically just a troll move.
