Coloxus(thief) goes Warr!
I don’t know if youre trolling or not but either way you made my day Coloxeus “If ya can’t beat em, join em”
(edited by RedSpectrum.1975)
I joined em like several weeks ago.
Warriors are OP. I run 3 stances to be even more stupid.
Welcome to the club brother. Took you long enough.
I think this video will bring some more thief nerfs.
Q.: But why??? its a warrior video !!!
A.: Exactly.

Yea, I run PvP primarily as a bunker guard now. They’re not considered vastly OP like warriors are right now and they don’t make very interesting vids since you don’t get huge crits, but it wins games and isn’t getting nerfed.
Since glory/rank is now based upon wins instead of points, there’s been no better time to run as a bunker, especially since it makes such a big difference to a team’s chance at winning.
But I did cheese around on a war for a little bit. It’s such an awkwardly clunky class compared to thief, but kitten ed if it doesn’t CC like a vice grip and hit like a truck.
I love the skin. SPARTANNSSS!!! But yeah; I recognize the move.
Inactive: Guardian, Elementalist, Ranger, Thief (ex-main)

Pretty sad…. But at least we aren’t getting sword gutted next patch…. wait…
Highest Solo Queue Rank Achieved: 40
Highest solo-join Team Queue Rank Achieved: 198
yo, warrior 50 now, can’t wait to wvw at 80. thieves op, eh i mean warriors!
Attachments:
yo best part at 9:58, slows speed down to show his “intentional dodge” against shield stun, 7 seconds later takes telegraphic eviscerate to the face, gg wp.
I mainly play thief since BETA but i think Warriors are really OP at the moment after they overbuffed their capability (while they keep on Nerfing Thief almost every patch) so i tried the cheese build mace stunlock + GS Hundred blades yesterday and ya its pretty OP! and i enjoying this current meta! lets hug the META! SPARTANS AAHHOOUU!!
You think Warriors are OP as a Thief? Man, I feel sorry for you. Warriors are the EASIEST kill for me as a Thief.
I think this video will bring some more thief nerfs.

Had to log in, you made my day
Would have commented on your video, but I hate google and youtube right now.
kitten that stun lasts soooo long and is on a low cooldown weapon skill when we thieves have an elite that is on a 45 second cooldown with like a 1 second stun…….just wow…….

Oh come on. We all know ANet’s wokring logic (broken). Doesn’t help there’s no thief dev and tons of warriors devs. The forum rules don’t even allow us to tell the devs how bad they are, because it ends up as “personal attacks against staff” and infractions. Good job anyway anet (not).
Whatever, man. Look, I gotta admit it: the skill level required to get excellent results on a warrior is so incredibly low as compared to a thief is absolutely kittening ridiculous, and yet it’s the thieves that keep getting nerfed still. I’ve written so much about the thief and how to counter it, and have even provided ANet with the means of mathematically proving its balance, and not only have they completely ignored me, but they have in fact swayed with the mindless sheep droning on without end because of their own lack of skill.
Personally, I’m still going to play thief. I’ve played thief since I first got the game, and I find every other profession far too boring to even touch (excluding, maybe, mesmer). I also love the mobility that I get on my thief. I will, however, say one thing in particular: ever since necros became OP, I’ve been playing full zerker gear, which is optimal against condi builds but is generally more fun to play anyways. Since then, however, the purpose has shifted from being directed against condi builds to being against ridiculously OP warrior builds in general. If I don’t run zerker, I don’t do any damage and I get smashed anyways. If I do run it, then I take a huge risk that relies entirely upon my own skill while my opponent facerolls the keyboard. I do an insanely small amount of damage while having to stay at a range and time my dodges well. On the other hand, if I get hit more than once or twice, I’ll probably just drop dead.
I also now have to run 3(!!!) stun breakers as well + shadow return along with immobilize/cripple/chill breakers via Shadow Returns, Withdraws, and Roll for Initiatives at suboptimal times. I still run my 10/0/0/30/30 build, but the amount of effort in order to get anything done is almost ridiculous. Furthermore, guardians have now become so ridiculously difficult to kill that I usually take only two or three stabs at them before I decide to simply walk away. I’ve seen groups of 5-10 people in WvW unable to take down a guardian easily because of how stupid they are right now.
But no, ANet, thieves, of all professions, are completely OP.

Well said my brother Thief, well said. If only they would listen to such logic. Sadly common sense and logic – you’re either born with it, or you’re not. Sadly, they’re not
Yeah, I enter Spvp on my Warrior when I’m feeling lazy and can just stand on a point with my immortality signet and immortality banner and just watch a GC Thief go all out on me and never dent my HP enough to kill me. After a few matches in a row with all wins and 0 deaths I start to feel guilty and just run around talking to people in /say, greeting them and apologizing for being OP as all hell, but it’s just so easy compared to any other class. Free glory points.
Their entire group can jump me and all I need to do is just hang out with Mr. Banner and Dr. Signet and aoe the ground and swing my sword around randomly to kill their entire team with the huge amount of damage I’m somehow able to do along side the sustain of perfection, with or without my allies. It’s such a shame how much of a **** that build is.

Funny thing is pre-sword nerf #40 in Spvp or whatever number of times it was, when they reduced the boon steal. Even with stealing 2 the Guardian would still be impervious to full zerker sword damage and keep full healing and shrugging it off like it was nothing.
Sword will probably be even worse off now in Spvp, I already dropped it and went back to a boring suicide GC dagger build. Much more effective, but so much for playing my way. And I get to hear people constantly **** at me and call me a noob everytime I instakill them. At least evasion sword could be seen coming but they brought it onto themselves.

Well, with warriors and guards now it pretty much boils down to keeping poison up 100% of the time. The boon stripping capabilities of the sword aren’t good enough to get through the regen and protection, so SB and daggers seem like the way to go at this point. At this point I’ve dusted off D/D because of all the tanks walking around. PVT armor, traveler runes, and zerk everything else has been effective for me lately.
i kill warriors all the time on my thief. Perhaps you will be next.
All it takes to beat a thief is let him do his stun break on your first stun, skull crack him again while he is standing in his black powder using berserker stance and HB him.
Dead thief.

i played double s/d thief for 2-3 months pvp until i mastered the effectiveness and right timing for dodging. but this mace+GS i just played for 3 hours pvp and i really like the result! i just tried the hammer+longbow build and its more OP LOL! so you’re probably right, playing a very squishy Zerker but evasive Thief takes a very high skill level of playing to dominate! cuz once you hav caught in a wrong situation.. you’re prolly dead!

We know man, we know… feelsbadman.jpg
Thief is my main (and a very distant second tied together are mesmer and ele), always has been and always will be when I play this game. I’ve kept to my s/p or d/d trickery build and have been full zerker (with an occasional swap to some soldier pieces) for a while now. I don’t see it getting any better anytime soon, at least until metrics put thief as a seriously underutilized class. Even then, I am not sure how that will happen as we have die hards that will probably quit the game altogether before they just switch classes. I know I will – mesmer or ele are not fun enough for me to drop my thief. Nothing else feels right.
Anyway, here, I found a picture of our new overlords. The warriors.
Is seems that a lot of thieves need to l2p. Good that OP rolled Warrior, now you know how to fight Warriors (Is same thing that you said when ppl complained about theif- roll one and see) As for video- wow you killed another Warrior using rifle? so that makes warrior not op?
I’m worried I’m gonna be one of the last thieves in Gw2. At least do the favor of deleting your thief so that once our time comes, you have to grind back to level 80, and cannot just band wagon to the most op classes.

I have an geared up warrior I do not play. He’s more capable than my thief in almost every way, but I find the playstyle boring. I simply enjoy the thief more.

Funny how other profs- warriors in particular- used to say that thieves should stop saying “l2p” and should just accept that they “should be nerfed”. We were criticized for using a phrase based on pages and pages of mathematical, tactical, and strategic theory. Oh, the irony.
As for warrior, I’ve played it many, many times for all types of reasons. However, the difference between the thief and the warrior is that while there are practically limitless resources on how to counter thieves because the majority of misplays are either simple tactical mishaps (being untrained in countering backstabs) or general strategic misunderstandings (not understanding the idea behind stealth builds). However, the issue with the warrior is not with either of those things, but rather with the very nature of the warrior. Tell me- how much “skill” do you require in order to master the warrior? On Colox’s video, I list out the differences between S/D and warrior builds in general…
- positional knowledge
- forwards planning before starting an engagement (related to positional knowledge)
- dynamic knowledge (i.e. what to do during the fight, how to spend initiative, how to balance waves of attacking, etc.)
- knowledge of when to use utilities (common among virtually all builds)
- a very specifically designed hotkey setup that allows you to react extremely quickly
- knowledge of when to sacrifice your resources (i.e. initiative, damage, certain signets, range, etc.)
- strong tactical abilityAnd warriors, generally speaking, require:
- knowledge of when to use your utilities.. And that’s about it.
Do you have anything to dispute there? Or are you just another noob without the slightest inkling of knowledge about this game?
Warriors aren’t that difficult to kill playing a thief. seriously.
