Condition Gear (w3)
I have read cap on bleed duration is 100% but I haven’t tested it personally. I use 75% with my gear and I can say that works at least.
For WvW, I personally use all Carrion except for the 6 armor pieces which is the Power/Vit/Tough PvP/Karma set.
I got Max in both the tough and vit trats. It’s really awesome imo. Max possible health, good amount of toughness ,just durable as bawls (use 2x Krait, 2x Afflicted, 2x Centar for 45% duration + 2x bleed sigils for 65% bleed).
Edit: I personally also have 10 in power for Mug and to get to the 75% bleed break point.

I’m planning on going with 100% duration so the bleeds last 10 seconds. I’m just curious how the + condition damage scales and if there is a cap. I’d test, but my patch is at 11% and connection is slow =(
I prefer carrion, across the board. I do not rely on crits, so rampager didnt seem useful to me.
In my opinion, Rampager is useless for a condition build because you’re not relying on critical hits in any way. Go for Carrion across the board, maybe throw some Knight’s or Soldier’s in their for the toughness/vit boost.

You use to favour Rampager Jewels over Carrion. Why the change? Are you still using Sigil of the Earth for extra bleeds on Crit on your weapons?
I think I’ve given up on P/P and have gone P/D, so just trying to get my gear right! Thanks!

@SapceCowboy when I hit 80 I went will all Rampager rares figuring the vit and toughness from traits was enough to get along. I’ve found that while it was ok, the durability from vit is just insane, well worth the dmg decrease from not having any precision. The added condition dmg of Carrion makes up for it a little bit. I also don’t have to even think about crits anymore. I pretty much know exactly what dmg each skill will do. If it crits, great! The reason I went with the PvP stat gear for armor is basically due to how addicted I have become to the bunker/tanky play-stile. I love being able to whittle people down while outnumbered.
I also ditched the earth sigil in favor of 2x bleed duration sigils when I realized I could hit the 75% bleed duration breakpoint with thsoe sigils and runes 2x affliction, 2x centar, 2x krait with only 10 points in the power trait for mug.
@Emerge condition dmg scales with bleeds fairly poorly. You get 5 dmg/tick for every 100 condition dmg (5% of con dmg+ base/tick) base at 80 is 4x dmg.
Condition duration is capped at +100%. I’ve done testing on this one personally.
I use a P/D build primarily and went with full carrion everything, 3 aff/krait. Sig of corruption/agony. Have none in the +% duration traits, which puts me at 40% duration, but in non sPvP play, you get to use consumables, and I pop Pizzas all day long like a college kid. The lvl 80 pizza adds 40% duration, giving me a +80% total ^.^
One of my goals is to build a rabid stats array set, and use the sig of earth for faster bleed application… but rampager gives up too much condition damage imo. Rabid though, has high cond allocation, and toughness/precision too. Very good for a crit/condition synergy build.
Base bleed damage is 42.5 per second at level 80. And every 20 condition damage increases that by 1.
At base I’m around 1450, plus pizza, tuning crystal and sigil. Puts me at approx 1850-1900. I’m seeing bleeds that do about 135+ per second.
Why? Gives needed gear…

What is maximum that we can hit with condition? I use full exotic set from dungeons at the moment, 4 pieces of Nightmare (toughness, precision, condition) and 1 Arah (condition, power, vitality), and one CoF (condition, power, vitality).
I think I should have more condition than this right now…

Precision works rather well with condition damage, actually. There is a Sigil that applies a bleed 60% chance on a critical. And in the Crit strikes trait line, 20% chance on crit to regen initiative…that works especially well for a DB build if you have good crit, because the more you crit the more initiative you regen, and because DB is a three hit aoe, the more you’re aoeing the more it hits, the more it crits, the more you regen….the more you DB.
Aside from that though… Agony is a good sigil, it adds +10% bleed duration. The best is probably Corruption, that one gets up to +250 condition damage.

Is 100% bleed duration overkill?
No it scales your condition dmg up a lot. Once you ramp it up it’s doubling your condition dmg.
Guy above has 1344 which adds ~67/tick to his bleed.
Vital shot is 4 ticks so it adds 268 dmg over 4 seconds. With 100% you get 536 over 8 seconds but if you are solo/duo and not hitting the 25 stack cap you are keeping those bleeds rolling and doubling your condition dps.
Also scales with might.

Regular mobs usually die before bleeds run out so the duration only scales dmg up in theory. That’s of course only true if you stack enough bleeds using caltrops.

Between traits, runes and the sigil I’m at 100% duration. The idea is to have a ton of stealth options avaialble and improvisation will reset all of my deception utility. Obv you can change around the points/sigils/runes with a pizza. Intended for a solo build.
Do passive damage gains (exposed weakness, sigil of force) increase bleed damage?

Don’t think so. I believe they only effect direct damage.

They should affect bleeds, but not positive either way.
As far as stat spread, I prefer Carrion. Power scaling for almost all weapons is pretty solid and quite superior to precision in a direct comparison.
You have to stretch to very specific synergies for precision to be worth it (although the crit → Init → Blossom pew pew is a reasonable example of one such).
I threw a bunch of carrion gems in to give the max potential effect though I am unsure if it is reachable but it gives you an idea on the potentcy.
I thought about moving some things around to put 30 into CS for free 100% crit backstabs but decided not to.
