Condition Thief
Please dont theyre so uber cheesy. But if you want the build is 2/0/6/0/6 .. full dire gear with krait runes. Pistol/Dagger.
They are one of the most OP builds in the game and is really easy to play because of high hp/armor/stealth/regen/ranged..
good spvp build i use is 2/0/2/4/6 its fun as hell
when you get tired of dire, you can try rampager. more difficult, but not so boring.
Blech. P/D dire condi is a set that needs to get thrown into the pits of nerfblivion in WvW like PU mesmer.

You guys were right about it lol. I couldn’t play it for long than a day and i switched to d/d.

Thank goodness. I remember the day I tried p/d condi for fun. Never again.
ULTIMATE CHEESE BUILD. Heh, no one will like to engage once they realize what you will be doing, and it requires no skill to take most classes down.
public service announcement, please refrain from being a kitten and playing condi p/d.
thank you.
It genuinely is too easy and gives the rest of us a bad name and a lot of undeserved nerfs elsewhere, and is why P/P remains a sub-par set and always will be.
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/professions/thief/ES-Suggestion-The-Deadeye-FORMAL/
But P/P has nothing to do with P/D. One is power / iniative based, and the other is condi. While I do agree than 1vs1 dire condi thief is just cheesy (you even go one step forward and put perplexity; it can’t be more cheesy than that), if you’re a roamer playing on servers that lack small scale fights, then I can see you playing condi.
You can be really good D/P or D/D, but you won’t be able to handle more than 2 experienced players on those sets. Key word: “experienced”. Of course that you can destroy small groups if they don’t know where the keyboard is
And yes, it isn’t fun to destroy people 1vs1, but let’s be honest, except for 1 or 2 classes, most of the thief builds have the potential to easily destroy everyone on a 1v1 situation.
Blech. P/D dire condi is a set that needs to get thrown into the pits of nerfblivion in WvW like PU mesmer.
I bolded the actual problem.
break. I feel like they should be back by now..”
While I agree that Dire + Perplex condi is what’s really the culprit behind most condition ridiculousness, P/D having such a low-risk : high-reward kit doesn’t help its case. The only time P/D should die is if it gets outnumbered by multiple targets using CC lock skills through the stunbreaks or manages to get long-ranged immobilize locked while burned with conditions and focused while on cooldowns.

P/d can be “out-ranged” or cc locked or simply be crippled (not the condition) so much to where it cannot hurt someone as quick by missing certain combinations.
P/d does have weaknesses as a kit, it’s the dire set that makes them less relevant when you can tank most of it and just chill in stealth if you get a little scared.

There is little the set depends on. I’m not sure what kind of combinations you’re referring to. Shadow Strike itself can and should prevent almost everything threatening to the build in melee, and steal and utilities to close gaps with DS while providing condition overloads let the build destroy most ranged builds while remaining relatively safe. It’s also not dependent on many traits and can build quite a bit more defensively, and it provides the best ranged throughputs of any other thief set. With the lack of a 1200 ranged power weapon, thief as an entire class will always have issues being out-ranged. Thus, if anything, P/D has the biggest advantage in that regard.

Im going to start with the most important part first: Play what you want to play and is fun for you.
That being said, p/d condi is highly looked down upon by many, including myself. It is quite a handicap against players. But if you really do want to play condi, I would run dire or carrion, or if you want rabid for crit-proc sigils.

Wow, you guys did all the dirty work for me.
Normally I’m the one convincing players to never touch cheese.
If you’re bored of condi teef, try taking off your weapons. It’s still pretty easy!
I’ve recently fallen to the dark side. Made me a might stacking celestial P/D thief with D/P secondary and a few twists. I find it quite relaxing, actually. It feels kind of like playing PvE, but against real players.
Start in D/P, interrupt with skill 4 to put 5 stacks of confusion, auto-attack for some poison, go into stealth and switch to P/D (5 stacks of might already). You go up to 10+ stacks and stay there, getting your power up to 2400+ (2500 on D/P) with stacks and condi to 1500+.
Fun might stacking combo; Black powder > Blinding Powder (blast finisher gives you and surrounding allies 7 seconds of stealth) > Heartseeker for a total of 10 seconds of stealth. I tested it, and you start out with 2 might stacks, but gain 2 more every time one of the durations runs out (so after four seconds you are at 4 stacks, and after another 3 seconds you get another 2, totalling at 6 might stacks). If you start out this way, then switch to P/D you have 9 stacks of might already.
The differences between celestial and dire made me go for celestial. You get ~250 less toughness and vitality, but gain a lot of power, ~30% crit chance, ~30% crit damage, and a chunk of healing power (you regen 365 HP/sec in stealth).
Damage wise, Dire gear will not outdamage celestial sneak attack until the fourth tick of the bleeds. This means that celestial gets more immediate damage through the higher direct damage, and, if your opponent cleanses before the fourth tick, more damage overall. In outnumbered fighting, where opponents get more condi cleansing, this helps.
If your opponent does not cleanse, Dire outdamages Celestial by 10% after the sixth tick is done.
P/D remains ridiculous.
Hulk Roaming Montages/Build Vids
I always rage but never quit.
It feels kind of like playing PvE, but against real players.
This is a perfect summary as to exactly why everyone hates this build lol.

I am sure Condi thief and proud! However, I have played Condi thief for 3 years now. I personally love it and will gladly embrace the rage that I get from my enemies and anyone on this forum
The only thing that I feel justified it is that I olay on Kaineng and almost every fight we are outnumbered 1 to 5.
yeah i play a 2/0/2/4/6 dire/ scavenger thief and its a kittening blast. Been playing condi thief since BETA. Not gonna change just because its not the hardest way to play the game. its how i enjoy playing the game, and thats what games are about
ULTIMATE CHEESE BUILD.
Puhleez, D/D is still cheesier. Celestial Engi is Cheesier. PU Mesmer is cheesier. Don’t even get me started with Ele’s.
Please dont theyre so uber cheesy. But if you want the build is 2/0/6/0/6 .. full dire gear with krait runes. Pistol/Dagger.
They are one of the most OP builds in the game and is really easy to play because of high hp/armor/stealth/regen/ranged..
They are only cheesy until they run into someone with allot of condition removal or a necro with condition transfers.
At which point they become utter crap

Any other condition class can beat them I won against a few as condi guard and condi shatter mesmer. Even glass ranger can keep backstepping and cc (not in conquest) , actually almost every decent build shouldnt’die vs it you can negate both CnD and sneak attack what else is there to dodge?
They call it cheese because of the escape factor and perplexity runes not even dire. Easy or not, pure it is not cheese like. Trap condi p/d is more entertaining.
The Dhuumfire thread
Condithief is alive and well. The most broken condi build at the moment is perplexity — you can find YouTube videos of thieves very successfully WvW roaming with only an offhand pistol equipped — but word is that that’s getting the nerfbat soon. Besides, to gear that build it’d cost ~70 gold just for the runes.
I’m currently running a bleeding build centered on caltrops and basilisk venom+krait runes. It works in most every situation in WvW and sPvP, and is a great bunker buster for taking out entrenched engineers in sPvP. However, due to caltrops’ limited range, it does tend to be more effective in closed spaces like capture points and keeps, but if you’re good at baiting your enemy and dancing them into the aoe in an open area engagement, it’s still quite effective. I do use Signet of Shadows, which I often see people trashing on the forums, but having done my own A and B tests I find for my preferred play style there’s really no substitute for the 25% movement boost, both for pursuing objectives and for simply out maneuvering enemies (it’s also a great panic button for the 30-sec-cd blind in case things get nasty between stealths).
Malcolm Quill’s Ballistic Trauma 1.0 Build:

Since the above link only lists sPvP gear, I’ll add that for WvW I use all dire gear, and weapons and accessories that share the same stat grouping, namely condition damage (primary), toughness (secondary), and vitality (secondary). This setup keeps 1v1 and other small skirmishes quite viable, but also gives great survivability in zerg clashes.
