Hey guys,

I currently have a Thief at level 40. I do have a mesmer at 80 as well. My question is short and simple:

Is building power and con damage fine for leveling through PvE? Or should I go with precision?

I love the big poison hits tho.

Berserker (power/prec/ferocity) would give the fastest means to leveling. If you’re just asking if power/cond build is viable in pve, then sure it is. It just does less damage overall.

Before lvl 60 I guess you only have two stats to work with though. In that case, power/cond might be as good as power/prec, because there is no ferocity to benefit from the precision.

Kagamiku got right to the point, Berserker (power, precision, ferocity) is the fastest at killing PvE Mobs. Condi is okay too, but slower since you need to build it up.

If you go for both it’ll still be slower than berserker but MIGHT be faster than condi since you dont have to wait for the condition damage to stack up.

Also its just easier to gear for full berserker or full condi and power gear is much easier to come by at the lower levels.

Depends on how you’re leveling. If you’re solo leveling by doing open world content/personal story, then having both power and condition damage is fine. I fondly remember spamming Death Blossom and Caltrops while I kited mobs around in my first teef play-through a long, long time ago.

Honestly, most people don’t update their gear enough for the stats to really matter. Most people just wear the highest level loot they find, whatever the stats may be. If you’re leveling by doing living story or EotM (anything with a lot of other players), then stats matter even less.
