Condition removal as Thief
Outside of stealth, there is really only Acro VIII, which removes condi’s once every 30 seconds when you’re struck below 75% hp.
Why are you needing to remove so many conditions in PVE?

Cool, thanks.
Well, I like to overpull so it still stays a bit of a challenge, but I mostly run out of initiative & endurance before I kill all the mobs (still learning the thief tbh, but I’m having so much fun with the class. ^^). The only that gets on my nerves is that when I get hit, I’ve no viable way (without counting stealth) of getting rid of the boons, while, for example, Mesmer has Null Field.
I know you don’t really want stealth, but it’s Thieves main advantage as a class.
I play full berserker in WvW, but I run 30 points in toughness line for Regen on stealth, condi removal every 3 sec and healing in stealth. It gives me great survivability.
Sword is also good for condi removal as the teleport ability on slot #2 removes a condition each use. Shadowstep also removes several conditions. As does Hide in Shadows.

Awesome! I’ve completely overlooked Shadowstep, and per coincidence, I’m using sword. You’ve just made my Thief experience a whole lot smoother, thanks!
If you plan to play stealth-less a full set of Lyssa Runes, Condition duration (Bowl of Poultry and Leek Soup) and condition removal (Bowl of Saffron-scented Poultry Soup) on heal food is your best bet. Even if it’s for PVE it’s good practice IMO.
Plays completely opposite professions to his main Teef.

Also don’t forget that the roll heal skill (forget the name off the top of my head and the wiki is currently having an aneurysm) cures movement impairing effects, meaning immobilize, chill, and cripple.
I think there’s also a trait that removes cripple and weakness on dodge every 10 seconds or something.
Other than that, you can try using a sigil of purity/generosity, although those aren’t that powerful or reliable. Certain consumables can help to as they can give reduced condition duration or cause your healing skill to remove one condition.
There is no need for more conditions clearing for general pve then you get from signet of agility. And there is no advantage of stealth in pve besides skipping stuff.

Most general PvE this is true. However, I’ve found the latest temp content to be much heavier on conditions that the rest of the game. Been the trend for some time now. And they are annoying conditions that most of the “class B” condition removal thieves have won’t cleanse (examples: torment, confusion). Not necessarily a problem even then until multiple mobs start stacking them on you – which will happen if you play aggressively. Signet of agility really isn’t enough by itself, and if you don’t use a sword its either Shadow Step/Return or removal on stealth.
Acrobatics trait line. Then sell it back
to them for $50. Brilliant! – ghost of P.T. Barnum
everyone knows the condition removal u get from the acrobatic trait line is not reliable and really does not protect u from damaging conditions
-pain response
- fleet foot
pain response only removes fire bleed and poison once every 30 . and gives a healing boon .
the best part of pain response is the healing boon :S
this is not a reliable condition remove at all.
fleet foot . removes cripple and weakness.
u could call this reliable only to help keep u moving
the last thing u want for a condition cleans trait is.
(pain response)
-it only clears 3 specific conditions.
might even go as far to be called out dated there is torment now
and confusion in big stacks is more common
-a internal cool down . there is no timer to watch .
it would be nice to know when your 30 sec cool down is up.
-it can go off at a time that makes it useless in your fight.
u need to be able to trust your condition removil . and the only condition remove the thief can trust is (shadows embrace)
it would be really nice to get some kind of reliable condition removal for the acrobatic trait line.
pain response and fleet foot just do not even get close to cutting the cake

I was really hoping this “feature patch” may give us more condition-removal options outside of Shadow Arts.
But alas ANet thinks giving us yet another version of Signet of Malice or Assassin’s Reward is somehow more valuable.
