Q:

Do you think that when you use the consume plasma skill that it should grant more than one stack of stability? Maybe like 3 stacks to help the thief survive a small bit more. Also when stealing stability and might stacks should we get the full stacks stolen, just as a way to reward the thief for landing the steal and punish others for having so much stacks? The duration wouldn’t matter to me, but i’m just curious if anyone would also like this change as a “quality of life” improvement for us.

Sure, it would make sense but I don’t think they’ll let is have that much fun.

Besides, I think it might be due to engine limitations, it’s quite a process to calculate x-stacks from player A converted to x-stacks to player B, not to think of the timer variables that come into play and all that…

So yeah, it’d be good, it would make sense, but it’s unlikely to happen because of technical difficulties or because “Teef OP plz nerf QQ”.

The game constantly generates stacks of boons and conditions on players. Stealing boons is no more resource intensive than generating new boons on the “boon stealer” as if they used abilities that grant boons.

Bountiful Theft has always only stolen a single application of a boon, most likely for balance reasons. It’s good enough to rip 25 might off a target, gaining 25 might with a backstab 0.1 seconds away from landing would be incredible.

With the new stability changes, thieves have had every sources of stability they can gain nerfed down to 1 stack. I doubt this wasn’t intentional.

That’s skipping the step where the boons on Player A with X stacks on an Y timer are ‘rewarded’ to player B who might (both) be miles away from the server, latency would probably be quite the hassle just for starters.

It’d be quite powerful and a pretty rough counter against all those cele builds yeah…

Changing stability into stacks was clearly a modest nerf to consume plasma and boon steal.

Maybe they didn’t take this into account, thought it wasn’t a big deal or somehow convinced themselves that the totality of the stability changes made this a wash.
