Hey I was was wondering as I am making my first ascended dagger, what is a good amount of crit damage to have on a dd/d/p thief, I have always had around 100% or so, but I have been messing with some builds as of late to get some more defense and I was just wonder where abouts I should be sitting, the chose is having 85% with more armor, or 95% with less armor and more crit damage, I read somewhere that crit damage has diminishing returns, was not sure about this.

I’ve always got at least 100% without food, but I think that 85%+ is perfectly fine if you’re using HK and the food that adds 10%. This also depends on whether or not you’re using 30SA, because that 300 toughness is great with just a couple of soldier pieces.

Your stats already look great, but I’d personally want at LEAST 15k HP.

Or you could mix valk/cavalier/berserker to have balanced stats on top of maximum crit damage possible which is the whole point of a backstab thief with hidden killer. * shrugs *

Personally I avoid soldiers.

Check out Wish’s “building a better D/D Thief” topic, mixing Soldier with Berseker is the best way to min/max a x/30/30/x/0 build.

Above the line, dimishing returns.
Below the line, stat gain by choosing crit dmg.

1: Helmet, Legs, Exotic Rings, Exotic Back = 16 stats per 1% crit dmg
2: Chest and 2H Exotic = 14.4 stats per 1% crit dmg
3: Acended Weapons = 13.4 stats per 1% crit dmg
4: Exotic Earring = 13.3 stats per 1% crit dmg
5: 1H Exotic and Exotic Amulet = 12.8 stats per 1% crit dmg
6: Shoulders/Boots/Gloves = 12 stats per 1% crit dmg

7: Ascended Trinkets — (Ring = 8.5 per 1%)
8: Orbs --
9: Exquisite Jewels —

If you want most possible stat, change items to soldier in order 1-6 til desired vitality and toughness is reachced. Exception with Celestial equipment.

Made a quick full ascended setup following the order and towards my desired stats
and my favourite runes. I’d want 40% crit chance though..

I have 15,5k hp 39% critchance 91% critdmg 2800 armor and im perfectly fine with it. Running 0/30/30/10/0 for wvw/fractals
