@Critical Haste -- NO BUFFS?!
…and Mesmer Time Warp.
But TW was over powered anyway.

They really did pee in my cereal by messing with quickness without any buffs. There is now absolutely no viable 20 point skill in Critical Strikes tree (especially for a sword/dagger build), and the Sigil of Rage is now much less useful.
I’m considering going Sigil of Air or Fire now like everyone else.
I do not like this change for quickness in any form (TW mass quickness being the exception). Let every profession have our quickness, even if it’s at 50% do something about the duration!
Sword/Dagger now has zero burst damage, which is fine from a design standpoint, it’s all about control. Oh wait, daze duration sucks and now there’s an even bigger gap between daze expiring and being able to go back into stealth. Okay then, I’ll supplement that with Basilisk, nope. Oh wait I’ll supplement that with Scorp Wire, I might get off a successful pull once a night, on flat ground, with no wind, at the moons zenith, on one foot.
I suppose I could take venoms and spec out of CS line, but wait, the only two classes that I can’t even hope to beat (Guardian and Ele) laugh at all conditions.

Thanks ANet, you definitely haven’t put much thought into nerfing haste.
No buffs whatsoever for critical haste, only 50% dps nerf.
Yay, ANet basically said, we will give every other haste in the game a buff but not thieves cause we hate thieves!
EDIT: Critical haste is a trait which gives 3s of haste on crit (10% chance). Duration was not increased by the standard 1s. Appreciate that ANet, really do…
Why does everyone hate stealth classes so much?
Because they are a bunch of bads. Anet seems to be like Blizzard that if bads cry about a certain class long enough, they will get nerfed to the ground or close to it.
A huge fan of quickness, this does really suck but let’s not forget this is still a 50% damage increase. I still wouldn’t trade it for any of the other t2 traits.
-Sigh-
Well this has gutted my P/P WvW builds that relied on Critical Haste and Signet of Rage to land an Unload on any half-decent player.
But at least they buffed Haste for D/X players!! (Removed negative endurance, meaning you can bottom out your endurance, pop Haste and regen up most of it with Dagger #1 chain. Before you’d be able to go into negative endurance and need to regen up twice as much)
There’s two kinds of people… The quick and the dead”
Critical haste lets you attack 25% faster every 30s.
Stop whining holy smokes, bunch of babies here.
There are more pressing matters in this patch for the thief then that flippen trait. Good lord.

A 50% damage increase for 2 seconds on a 30 second cooldown. Even if it triggered instantly every 30 seconds that’s still only a net 3% damage increase. In reality, with a solid 70% crit chance it would still only have a pitiful 7% chance per strike of triggering, creating a significantly larger gap than 30 seconds.
You’re taking CH for Burst not dps lettuce be serious.
You’re taking CH for Burst not dps lettuce be serious.
And 2 seconds of completely unpredictable 50% burst once every ~45 seconds is worth a Major Trait?
I don’t think many people took it before, when it was literally twice as strong as it is now.
It might let you get off 1-2 extra attacks, and not even for free; you’ll just be burning initiative faster as well.
Right. I still believe that the damage increase on quickness is not to be sniffed at if you want to burst
I’m a pve guy so you’ll have to bear with me. Usually either this or sigil of rage will trigger within the first few seconds of a fight..
This is a really significant nerf. I currently run the trait for a chance for haste, a rage signet, and the haste utility. That hurts 3 times over.
Add in a 25% reduction in how frequently you can CnD + Backstab and you’re looking at a really significant DPS reduction.
I guess that’s what was “needed”. But it seems quite heavy handed to me. At least they didn’t try to ram in the other stealth change.
