Lorella Windrunner – 80 Thief
Shayera Nightfall – 80 Mesmer
Does anyone else feel the trait (Infusion of Shadows — 2 initiative returned when stealthing) is a tad bit necessary when running D/D? The reason I’m saying this is because it turns Cloak and Dagger into an actual cost effective ability to spam each time your anti-stealth debuff disappears.
I just can’t seem to come up with a D/D build that doesn’t require 10 in Shadow Arts for PvE or PvP.
Yeah, I’ve been reaching the same conclusion.
Infusion of Shadows allows you to practically disregard Initiative management assuming you actually hit your Cloak and Daggers. Without it you need other forms of Initiative replenishment in order to be able to use it consistently.
While playing Pistol/Dagger with 15 Initiative I could get by without Infusion of Shadows. But missing a Cloak and Dagger was painful.
The thing with Infusion of Shadows is however that it forces you to pick between either “Blind on Stealth” or “Condition Removal in Stealth”, both of which are really, really valuable.
The main problem with this is both blind on stealth and con remove in stealth are so ballaaaaaa
edit: Oops DeeJay already pointed this out..
I agree, it’s just too good not to take. Especially if you’re running D/P, which can cost 8 init to stealth without Infusion of Shadows.
I personally can’t play without Infusion of Shadows + Quick Recovery. I hate sitting on an empty init pool when your life depends on it.

Yea … the “blind on stealth” or “Condi removal on stealth” issue is making me cry sometimes. I just cant afford losing Infusion of Shadows or healing in stealth… Most of the time I end up running “Blind on stealth” and change it to condi removal only if i rly need it, like facing DB thief for example.
I run infusion of shadows, blind on stealth, and shadow rejuv in wvw.
Why is shadow protector(cond removal) so important? Sword #2 does this untraited.
i don’t use it:
-condition removal
-deception reuse 20%
-blind on stealth
- steal stealth
that trait got serious competition

Because this was a disussion about the use of infusion of shadow in conjunction with D/D.

Allmost permanent CnD spam wins it all imo, at least for my playstyle ( siting inside a zerg that is sieging stuff and killing them 1 by 1 and making ground wet from rage tears )
