D/D + Staff
My personal point of view is there not enough differences between the weapons to warrant taking both unless you doing some very specialized build (such as one premised on weaponswaps).
The AA of both is comparable. #3 edge is staff. #4 staff has a cripple in 3 plus gets a blind AOE so edge to staff.
2 is a wash with likely a slight edege to d/d but Staff does not have issues dealing damage.
If using d/d you probably want stealth in the build. If you get stealth in the build and use staff it hard not to want that hookstrike/vault combo over the backstab on stealthing.
I still have not found a better match for my staff build than p/p off hand. Others might have other insights.
Not really. Both are DPS melee focused weapons with a lot of overlap. D/P might make a bit more sense as you will get a short range teleport and a dark field to Vault into. Shortbow is the obvious choice as the teleport is extremely good. P/P would also be a solid choice since it allows a player to stay ranged for those fights where melee isn’t a good option.
S/P and S/D are basically like Staff and D/D. Too much overlap in skills to justify their use.

D/D + Staff is what I have been running on my PvE zerker thief. It can be very fun if you use the weapons at the correct times. The flat damage bonus can get pretty crazy but you will be slow unless you swap on the dash dodge modification.
Also always carry a ranged option in your bag to swap on (I like Short Bow for utility)
Thanks for the responses, will use shortbow instead and just swap between staff and daggers when i feel like it.
