Hello guys, always play for thief on WvW and never was on PvP, and now i’m want to play there a little, but don’t know good builds to start
Maybe somebody will give me advice for d / d thief (search on forum and didn’t find it).
Also: i know that now s / d thiefs is very strong on PvP, but it’s just not my playstyle, so i will glad if you will help me !
D / D Thief build for PvP (need help)
D/d is really bad in spvp. D/p is essentially the same thing, but with better utility and flow. The standard d/p build is 10/30/0/0/30 with a berserkers amulet, strength/pack runes, sigil of bloodlust/air/strength/fire/energy with HiS, shadow refuge, infil sig, and shadow step. Be aware tho this is fairly difficult to play well, since someone just farting on you will kill you. In fact most of the time youll actually be using your shortbow. As a thief, you shouldn’t really be focusing on 1v1s, but rather on forcing outnumbered fights, downing the people at half health who are trying to escape team fights, using your many interrupts to prevent resses/stomps, and using your insane mobility with shortbow to fly around the map deccapping points
D/D is pretty strong, but I think it’s too much focused on solo playing than teamplaying. That can be good, of course, depending on the situation.
So, for a D/D build, the plan is keeping your damage high: power and ferocity. Precision is important too, but Hidden Killer can give you a bit more of flexibility if needed
S/D is also strong, and I like to pick traits that help me and my team, especially Thrill of the Crime and Bountiful Theft. Since Sword #1 chain deals a lot of damage, this build can be a bit less focused on damage (since it doesn’t have a good burst) and allows you to get more survivability
Well, maybe some more experienced thieves can give you more opinions, but I’d like to leave mine here so you can think about the builds. Have fun ^^
