D/D condition thief Carrion or Rampager set? (PvE)
I haven’t reached that high level to be able to know much, but I’ve always played with condition damage ever since I started my thief (~65 ish now). I’d say if you’re focusing on condition damage, stay with condition dmg and “ignore” precision. I rarely get critical hits, but my high condition damage make up for it a lot. Haven’t tried going both crit/power/condition, not sure how it would work.
For a condition build I avoid crit like the plague. I like HP to give me a buffer for my dodges.
I run carrion for all armors, and take zerker dags, I run 20/0/0/30/15, speccing in extra damage on condition and damage for D/D. this lets you hit bleeds for ~90 and still auto for 1.2-1.6k damage. The reason I take carrion over rampagers is because the vitality is more useful than precision on a D/D thief, especially in the agility tree when you take using a skill you recieve HP. This lets you deathblossom and gain ~400-600 health on a group of mobs while applying all your bleeds and still hitting decent autos. I’m a level 80+~57 thief

edit I take carrion jewelry also, each piece gives about 20-30 extra condition damage, so if you take that all and times it by 5, it gives 100 condition damage, which is equal to the stats of the chest piece alone.

okay, maybe this helps: I’m running this build at the moment http://gw2skills.net/editor/en/?fYAQJAoYlcmaO3dy4E+5ExmCfKUPFkFsaPoZLfJA

I don’t see how it’s harmful to take crit while having this trait, and considering the fact that crit helps Heartseeker spam when the enemy is on low HP.
Carrion for condition builds and Berserker for crit builds basically. I got the Carrion exotic set complete so i’m currently working on a Berserker set. Can’t wait to finally change builds again. With my Carrion set i can’t switch to crit builds because i don’t have the gear for it (yet).
