D/D or P/P for PvE/Fractals? (Meta)
I assume everything on Metabattle is outdated at this point. By the way, how frequently do the Metabattle builds get updated? It’s been a couple weeks now since the balance patch and they are all the same…Thanks
Metabattle updates as frequently as users update it. In the case of the last balance patch, the update didn’t really disrupt any of the meta builds or shake things up; it’s more or less the way it was before the patch, with perhaps a trait or two changing somewhere.
For dungeons I use D/D.
For fractals it depends on what we’re facing: Single opponents: D/D, 34? fractal(no poison) and groups of mobs: S/P. Endboss of the Asura and Lava Fractal and the Molten Brothers: P/P. SB is always my second set.
You have to see what you need in what situation.
D/D is best against single targets, P/P is only vs single targets. S/P and SB is best against groups of enemies.
I recently had a look at metabattle and it looked pretty empty. I was also a bit confused about the thief build there was, but oh well, maybe it’s me.
I’ve been trying D/D + P/P for fractals lately, completely eschewing shortbow. It’s been great, actually. It allows me to keep up DPS when not in melee range, for instance when the party’s staying behind a wall of reflection and the boss decides to move away. The only thing I really miss is the evade on shortbow 3.
Nameless Inversion/Ascension/Evasion/Ruination/Impression/Perdition/Compassion/Tactician
Guild Wars 2 will be an amazing game when it’s finished. Compare Prophecies to EotN!
D/D is best against single targets, P/P is only vs single targets. S/P and SB is best against groups of enemies.
Is D/D definitely better than P/P vs single targets in a perfect scenario? I was mostly curious about this. After the Pistol buffs, D/D still wins?
Yes.

ATM i use P/P and D/D with a Shortbow in my Inventory for Stealth Stacking if needed. With HoT, D/D will fly out of the Window and will be replaced with Staff as my AOE Melee Option.
