Guild Wars 2

I have had a level 80 Thief for a while now but truth be told I have left him collecting dust. I roam WvW, and In the beginning I tried D/D and did poorly (cloak and dagger fails frustrated the hell out of me) so I put him on the shelf for months. I came back tried the PD condi thing, it was okay and I did a bit better but once again my C&D timing was mu down fall.

I have recently forced myself to walk away from my main toon (power Ranger way before power Rangers were all the rage) and give the Thief another go. I have discovered that I really like D/P play and would like some advice on build and such. I have linked what I am currently running below. Access to sigils/runes and exotic gear is not an issue. Any and all help is appreciated.

Free utility slot: either smoke screen, infiltrator’s signet,signet of agility or really anything you like, traps too.
Elite: pick your favourite
Missing trait: either furious retaliation or side strike.

Tbh I play mostly Tpvp and am therefore not a too reliable source for wvw stuff. However whenever i went into WvW my standard panic strike build worked perfectly. I dont like full shadow arts at all, imho it just covers poor skill. 6/0/2/0/6 gives you an awsm immobilize, OP steal and enough condi remove as long as you know how to dodge…

Butter’s build is the same attempt but gone into crit lane instead for panic strike (check here)

Put in my sigills/runes/trinkets too but there’re many viable options… Btw. if you’re newer to d/p, keep in mind that shadow shot and headshot are more important than your signature move (bp into hs), headshot the kitten out of them to drive them crazy

i run 2/6/0/0/6 with valk armor for D/D, im sure it could work for D/P.
or 2/6/2/0/4 to get some condi cleanse.

Another build i’m liking is very similiar to josh’s, however i take hide in shadows instead of withdraw and cloaked in shadows instead of the condi removal on stealth.

learn to pre cast your backstab then use steal or infiltrator’s signet

@ Coloxeus – Watched the video, great game play. It took me a bit of practice to get the timing down for the pre-cast of Backstab. It will be a great addition to the tool box! Thank you for the suggestion. Any chance you can share the build you use in he video? I know it is Trickery but I would be interested in your choice throughout.
