D/P Viable in PvE
I use Dagger/Pistol quite a bit and it is awesome for 1v1 battles, but more than one enemy against you can get a little tricky to pull off. I go with:
Deadly Arts: 0
Critical Strikes: 30 Furious Retaliation, Practiced Tolerance, Executioner
Shadow Arts: 20 Cloaked In Shadow, Hidden Thief
Acrobatics: 20 Fleet Shadow, Assassin’s Reward
Trickery 0:
Utilities: Withdraw, Signet of Shadows, Roll for Initiative, Caltrops
I prefer to use it in any battle by first using Steal to jump right in, and get an immediate Backstab. Then I throw up a Black Powder to keep my enemy from missing me and put up a Caltrops to stack bleeding and keep them from getting away. If things go well, I use a Heartseeker to go straight through the Black Powder to grant me more Stealth, which will allow me to get a 2nd backstab. If things dont go as I hoped, I get out as fast as possible by using Withdrawl and Roll for Initiative. I like to use D/P and P/P with this build with D/P when I’m alone and P/P for when a ton of random stuff is going on. I prefer to keep my stats around:
Power: 1500-1600
Precision: 1450-1550
Toughness: 1300-1400
Vitality: 1300-1400
Keep in mind this is level 80 stats.
Hope I could help you :)
Im using this build , it is my pvp build but it works as well in pve :
Deadly Arts: 0
Critical Strikes: 30 Practiced Tolerance, Signet Use, Hidden Killer
Shadow Arts: 20 Infusion of Shadow, Hidden Thief
Acrobatics: 20 Vigorous Recovery, Assassin’s Reward
Trickery 0:
Most of the gear I use is knight’s gear – power/precision/toughness
I use signets because they are on low CDs, assassins signet when backstabing and infiltrators signet for a stun break, signet of shadows for the perma movement speed increase.
The rotation in fights is Black Powder > Heart Seeker (for stealth) > Backstab , you can use steal > backstab as an opener. Even in group fight it is quite easy to pull off , if the mobs are not ranged , your enemies are blinded most of the time as the BP is aoe.

I run a PvE build and style similar to Markrath and I find late in the fight when you’re down to one remaining target you can rely on your 3 to maintain blindness while you finish it off. You can use your 4 to keep launcher worms from attacking, but I forget if they have any CQ attacks.
