D/P or S/P Skill Rotation?

D/P or S/P Skill Rotation?

It just struck me that I have been basically winging this weapon set on my own whims, which is probably not ideal. I am wondering if there is already an established rotation to maximize DPS or minimize damage?

What I do:
Shadow Shot —> blinding powder --> auto attacks until smoke field almost fades —> heart seeker --> back stab —> auto attack some more ---> BP —> HS --> BS, etc.

The above rotation worked for me alright but I have a feeling there are better ways of going about it.

I don’t really have a rotation for S/P I basically just do IS —> PW --> Shadow return —> do this again if initiative permits. I am positive I’m playing this weapon set all wrong but it gets the job done. Kinda…

Can someone throw me a bone here and tell me how this is done more efficiently?

I can’t speak about S/P (I just can’t use sword… Having the majority of it’s damage tied to auto-attack bores me)

But for D/P:

Highest DPS rotation would be Shadow Shot spam (Deals about half the damage of Backstab but costs less than half the initiative as BP > HS) until 50% health and then Heartseeker spam is higher (Similar damage kitten at 25-50% health but costs less initiative)

Unless traited for 2 init back on stealth in which BP > HS > BS becomes best DPS until 50% (Then HS spam becomes best due to initiative costs)

Though usually “rotations” are based upon what is needed the most at the time. Burst warrants use of BP > HS > BS. Survivability warrants use of BP > Autos > BP. Gap closing warrants HS/SS usage.

With the way that initiative works you have to be flexible in your skill usage to maintain a nice flow of attacks to fit the situation as it changes.
