D/P vs. S/D?
for solo, i guess s/d is better as it can dual better then d/p can, all that can really do is try to busrt someone squishy, but vs competent people i found it runs out of steam and thats where s/d comes in. may be its just me but i found when i did solo roam i had better results with s.d.
with a grp or duo then i would pick d/p.

This. Ironically, good DP thieves pretty much counter staff thieves though. You can’t dodge what you can’t see after all.
where bashing people over the head with a stick deals more damage than a stab to the heart.

Indeed. D/P Thieves are a pain in the bum but they aren’t guaranteed a win. A lot comes down to prediction of what they’re going to do. I’ve managed to catch a few out with Impairing Daggers and a few well timed Vaults. Not an easy fight at all though.
I enjoy s/d more but in a matchup d/p is likely to perform better. But if you are willing to have to work a bit harder and would rather use positioning and mobility over stealth and blinds then maybe s/d is for you.
I can tell that s/d requires a lot more skill and thought while fighting. I’ll probably stick with it though because 1) it looks cooler and 2) i enjoy the style of play
