DD stands for Dumb Dumb or Dare Devil?
Daredevil = DrD
Dagger/Dagger = D/D
DD doesn’t really exist, so make of it what you like.
DD is ambiguous, so the three character abbreviations are preferred
It stands for Dumb Daredevil!

The first boon duration warrior you run into in WvW will likely roll you while you wonder how to even get through their defensive sustain.
Go onto a node with a decent Tempest (or any point bunker) and let me know how well that damage is working for you.
Basically the thief is great against crappy players or injured ones. Run into a decent one and they have seen all your tricks and have answers for all of them. Best you can do is grab your ankles and hope that is enough of a distraction for another player to get the job done.
“Youre lips are movin and youre complaining about something thats wingeing.”
So, I finally got a thief to 80 and filled in the Dare Devil training.
It feels wrong, it looks wrong. The amount of damage, evade and CC in one weapon and line of traits seems overly much.
My first ever thief PvP match was a joke too.
I wasn’t a fan of thieves before. After playing one I like them less.
This isn’t 100% serious, mostly poking fun at DD.
It largely is. I think some other posters are missing the point of the thread.
The spec is uninspired, boring, and absolute power creep. It’s not overpowered compared to the other specs, but it’s absolutely broken compared to core thief/GW2.
I know I’m in the minority, but I’d rather lose a fight than play DrD.

I have always gone by as DD as daredevel and d/d dagger dagger. I dunno how doctor (Dr) devil has any connection to daredevil???

You are the minority . DrD is a fun traitline which is why so many play it. Now you might counter that the only reason they play it is because of the added power it offers and i would reply that if a person playing DrD was only concerned about playing an OP spec they would play another profession.
As to trait lines being uninspired or boring I find CS and SA much more so.
The DrD line is well designed. It offers a number of options that totally change the nature of your build opening up weapon sets that would not normally be used for a particular build type. There a good reason to use every one of the traits offered . This is a good thing and I see a lot more variety in builds then those first days when everyone was zerker using power and d/d and while having more trait choices always took the same ones.
If we want to see more core thief , much like has happened with Gaurdian and Warrior, the SA and CS lines need some work . With Acro almost there I can envision a few builds becoming more viable with a retuning of those trait lines.

This thread is more or less a troll thread – I decided to troll back and you guys think there’s some deeper meaning behind it. Ok then :P
cabbage: DrD because people forget the slash in D/D all too often. And an abbreviation like that isn’t unusual.
D D=dumb and dumber
DD=daredevil
D/D=dagger/dagger
DrD=some crap ppl made up

And how do you abbreviate Dancing Dagger?

X/D #4 .

Not bad – if doing all of this like listed, we’ll soon become Thief intellectuals.
We could also call it OHD4 though.

x/D4 is much better IMO because it follows the universal accepted weapon set standard format of D/D and S/D, for example.
Full set of 5 unique skills for both dual-wield weapon sets: P/P and D/D – Make it happen
PvE – DD/CS/AC – If that didn’t work, roll a Reaper or Revenant.
