EDIT: I should’ve called this thread “Can I have some DPS advice” to avoid confusion.

I am really digging P/P with Thief, did before Daredevil and I still do. It may not be the most viable, I don’t care, I love it, it’s awesome and it’s fun. I can work with Mediocrity if I can have fun with it.

THE POINT

I need mobility. With Unhindered Combatant I get that, but with Bounding Dodgers I get Damage.

The other option is the Signet of Shadows, but with Signet of Power I also get Damage.

For DPS sake, do I go with Bounding Dodgers for the 10% Damage Increase, or Signet of Power?

I don’t want to run both, I need to be able to move for survivability. You obviously get more of that with Unhindered Combatant, but how much of a damage boost does Signet of Power actually give me at this point? Do you get more damage with Bounding Dodgers or a Signet of Power?

Bounding Dodgers grants some interesting utility though, you can do some cool tricks with Bounding Dodgers leap finisher, like Black Powder stealthing (arguably a waste of initiative as Unload does more damage than Vital Shot, but cool nonetheless).

Opinions? Advice? Discuss?

No I am not removing Impairing Daggers. It’s awesome, and fun.

First you build will get you killed
You don’t have Condition Cleanse
You don’t have sustainable in a long fight
Why you pick trickery when you dont have trick utilities on the bar
In critical strike trait line you should pick #3 on Grand master trait for sustain
Take away Power signet its useless take signet of agility for condi cleanse
You dont need flanking strike combine with trickster 48 on quickness and 1 condi cleanse you are not playing pvp go for Thrill of crimes its better remember you have 12 initiative not 30 take daze on steal its give you free 50 endurance in 20 sec cooldown and its give 3 initiative
Take bouding dodge combine with blind powder to gain acess to stealth minimize the threat in a group fight
DD gm its up to you btw take spinning dagger on elite its reflect projectile

Fair advice, I will ignore most of the survivability/sustainability" advice though, as I never die unless I make a royal kitten-up myself. I can dodge the world. Again, survivability/sustainability is not an issue to me, the build I use has been put in practice for weeks now, I wouldn’t be using it if it got me killed ever 5 seconds. Compensate your lack of utility with skill/cowardice.

Critical Trait Line #3? Uh, no I won’t…
I’ll take the 250 ferocity and perma fury, I suspect that’s where most of my damage originates from.

Oh and, you have 15 initiative, not 12. Steal gives you 2 initiative.

And please dont jump dodge on the blinding powder it wont give you stealth

Hey Twicedead, I have run a very similar build since HoT came out and can confirm for everyone reading: this build is pretty crazy fun. I use unhindered and have gotten completely addicted to the mobility. You will never want to remove the trait, it’s got great range and allows you to stack perma swiftness.

My differences are that I run crit and deadly arts trait lines to help maximize DPS. you really don’t need any more survival with this build in PVE because you are just all over the place. You can stay out of range of almost any mob no problem.

I run Mug, panic stike, and executioner for DA. I also go back and forth with running Ankle shot from the Crit trait line. Combined with panic strike makes it even easier for you to stay away from enemies.

I also off hand SB for aoe damage.

Daredevil changes what you can do with thief a lot. This build has no stealth. Instead it relies on what I think might be the best mobility in the game. Not the highest DPS you can achieve but some of the most fun to be had. I encourage thieves out there to give this a shot. P/P, plus unhindered combat, plus physical skills (mainly the heal and impairing daggers), plus (fill in the rest of the build to suit you) is awesome fun.

Ascended weapons provide a big jump in DPS BTW. Pop the Assassin’s Signet then go into Dagger Storm for ridiculous AoE damage. Pop Signet of Agility for condi removal or extra dodges. IMO a stun breaker is always a good idea and Shadow Step is beastly since it teleports a good distance and can remove conditions. Use steal to interrupt and deliver Pulmonary Impact which will likely hit for north of 5k.

I have been running this build, very similar to most in this post and I am having an absolute blast. I know it’s not meta, but I could care less. Plenty of damage, plenty of mobility, great for roaming solo in the new maps. I have enjoyed my thief for the first time in YEARS. The new elite skill works wonders for breaking certain mob’s defiance bars.
